First time here
First time here as Valley of the Eagles. Played before when it was Spring Valley. Course is better and was nice to play.Pace of play was very good. Can't wait to see how it will look when totally finished.
Good layout. Fairways and traps need maturing. Sand traps and sand were below par.
A major revamping of the old Spring Valley course. Only 6 of the holes remain from the original course. All greens were redone and enlarged and improved. Greens only need to mature, as well as the fairways. Traps need some work. Sand was fluffy and had many stones. A challenging layout. Do not advise walking as there are some great distances between some greens and tees. We enjoyed the round and the staff was very helpful and friendly..
Interesting course
It is an interesting course. Some neat holes and really nice scenery. It is hard to judge when a course is so new but there are serious issues with grass on the fairways and around the greens. Honestly I night try it one more time this year but after that I think it needs a few years.
Give it another year to mature...
Played it Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately it rained a few hours EARLY in the am. Understandably, they are being super protective of the course. it was cart path only and pretty wet in some areas. We had to wait 45 minutes after our scheduled tee-time because they didn’t have enough carts. Ironically, there was a truck hauling about 20 carts away when we arrived...didn’t make much sense! Overall, it’s a fun and challenging layout. However, I believe it needs another full year to further grow in and mature to really become the course it has the potential to be. Hard to tell quality of greens due to afternoon tee-time after being wet...cleat marks everywhere and semi-slow.
New Course will take some Time to settle in
This is a brand new golf course was built on the former Spring Valley CC that closed in 2013. The course will tkae some time to settle in as there are some clear drawbacks right now. They still need to put in cart paths over the current gravel that is on most of the course. The Layout is extremely enjoyable. The course condition wise is still left to be desired as there are bare spots on about every hole but not overwhelming. All in all within 2 years this place should be pretty amazing. The clubhouse is amazing! however as of August 2018 they do not have their liquor licence. I would say its a bit overpriced given what it is currently.
Signs
They need better signs to guide around the course.Great layout in a couple of years it will be a great course.
I would say the green and tee boxes were in pretty decent shape. #1 was a little rough but other than that they were solid.
How were the greens? Did they roll ok? Were the fairways and tee boxes cut short and in good shape?
