About
Big Met Golf Course boasts the title of being Ohio's most-played golf course. Since opening in 1926, it has hosted an impressive 6,000,000 rounds of golf. The course is nestled into the Rock River Valley along gently rolling hills. One of the course's defining features is the dike that helps to hold back the Rocky River, which can be viewed from several holes. Although the golf course as it exists now differs dramatically from the original layout thanks to numerous improvements over the years, including lengthening and remodeling the seventh and eighth holes, it has retained the same playability that has earned its reputation. Big Met Golf Course is not overly challenging but there are a few strategically placed bunkers and tricky rough areas, as well as a moderate amount of length.

Big met
Three stars overall. Gets pricey, bring your everything becaayse you will suffer 9 holes if you forgot any amenities
The same issue
The same thing always happens here .. it’s play very slow , had the second tee time of the morning paces was excellent, while making the turn , 4 group was in front of me . 4some 3some ,single and single ... I love this courses been playing here for 20 or more years and it has never changed , so I took a rain check to play my other 9 maybe later in the month
Father’s Day 18 holes
Course in great condition as always. Very enjoyable
Well maintained course
Big Met, like all of the MetroParks courses we have played, was so well maintained and beautiful!
Always Ok
This course is fine for a local round during the week. They always get tons of play and can be slow on weekends. The day I played, I was paired with a 3-some on the front, but then alone on the back, I only saw one other golfer on the entire back 9. Course was cart path only, but not very wet. Greens were still recovering from aeration, so not many putts rolled true. Staff has improved over a few years ago.
Greens need work
Pros: Love the course layout for Big Met, mostly a straightforward with only a few holes requiring you to work the ball. Not a long course from the tips.
Cons: PACE OF PLAY IS HORRENDOUS, they have no one on the course keeping people going. Also, not a single green on the whole course runs the same speed; this was the most frustrating part of the round.
Hoping the course gets better as we get into summer so I’ll wait a few weeks and try again.
Slow play
Another slow round at big met. There was a time when rangers would drive around keeping pace of play this doesn’t happen any more. Staff was very friendly but I’ve never had a round here that didn’t take close to 5 hours or longer
Excellent greens comeback
Great conditions on fairways. Greens were plugged 2 weeks ago & have completely recovered.
Great layout. Excellent greens staff.
To slow of play
Play was to slow, only saw the ranger when we first stated to play, course had big wet areas throughout the course. Either someone left the water system on to long or the course needs to make drainage better overall. There was also a group playing with five in it with no regard to others on the course. I don't think the course is worth the weekend price that everyone was paying when it should be put back into the course for upkeep. Once you pay your money I guess that's it, they got you.
Ignore the staff
Good value and nice courses. The staff for unclear reasons were less the helpful and seemed confused doing basic things like checking in our foursome.... it did not need to be that hard... that said Big Met is a a good value and challenging courses. Will definitely play again..
