Big Met Golf Course
About
Big Met Golf Course boasts the title of being Ohio's most-played golf course. Since opening in 1926, it has hosted an impressive 6,000,000 rounds of golf. The course is nestled into the Rock River Valley along gently rolling hills. One of the course's defining features is the dike that helps to hold back the Rocky River, which can be viewed from several holes. Although the golf course as it exists now differs dramatically from the original layout thanks to numerous improvements over the years, including lengthening and remodeling the seventh and eighth holes, it has retained the same playability that has earned its reputation. Big Met Golf Course is not overly challenging but there are a few strategically placed bunkers and tricky rough areas, as well as a moderate amount of length.

Good course, great pace of play
The course was in great shape and our foursome was able to play 18 holes in under 4 hours on a Sunday morning. Will be playing here again.
Nice valley course
Have been playing Big Met for 40 years. Always love going there. Course was in pretty good shape the day I played and couldn't believe how quick pace of play was. One of my favorite places to play
Big Met
Great course with fun holes! I loved the fairways lined with big trees! Greens firm and fast!
Fun in the Sun
Thank you Metro Parks for a wonderful, beautiful course you have provided. Super great people, food, and very nicely organized facility. Love the golf course!
Often Slow
Had a Tuesday morning ladies league at 9am teeing off front and back. Players are often walking also, luckily made the turn before they teed off. If not, would've been there a LONG time.
Great course for starters
Great course for walking. Well maintained, friendly people
Big Met
Course was in phenomenal shape for November. Pace of play was way to slow . To many old timers who think there are on a private club. Looks like a refresher course is necessary in the etiquette of slow play and allowing faster players to play through.
Just don't Go!!!
A perfect day for golf and a great price on golfnow .com. The first problem is that we were teamed up with a sightless person. He is a marvelous gentleman as we got to know him well over the hour plus it took to play two holes with him. It was not even the pace of play that eventually forced us to try to skip ahead of him but the fact that he nearly hit us twice. So we moved up to a foursome with 3 carts one of whom had a sound system going. Seriously, I thought there was some sort of hidden camera show or something. Just nuts. I will not be playing this course again.
Most played course in Ohio
The course was in very good condition considering how much it is played.
good for a deal
Went on a Sunday afternoon, and thanks to the Browns played in just over 4 hours, which is a breakneck pace for Big Met. The course was in very good shape considering the amount of play it gets. Very walkable course and easy for the above average golfer. Probably would have had 3-4 birdies except the greens were punched. Also the rangers are worthless (when aren't they??) and most who play here don't understand etiquette (a twosome stuck behind a foursome playing the blacks and not hitting drives over 150 yards all day)
Good time to go since summer is over
staff is friendly and the food is good... The course is in decent shape..
First time at Big Met
The course was in excellent conditions. The greens were outstanding - smooth and true. As good as any private course.
Better road markings for the bag drop area needed for first time visitors; it is a separate parking lot on top of the hill. I drove past and parked in main parking lot resulting in a long walk UP the bridge carrying 2 bags.
course in great condition
Joined a threesome, good company. Course was in great shape…pace of play was just right. Weekends are usually much more busy, can't beat this course for value during the week.
Course is JOKE if you like hitting out of rough then play here
Do Not Play This Course! The Course is unfair the fairways are to tight and the rough is to long for a public course. It's no wonder people are fleeing the game, It's because this public golf course has 20 yard fairways and 3 inches of rough just to save money. Think about it? You dont have to pay extra people to cut fairways if you only have to cut half as wide as they should be.
Good...but there's better
A quality metro golf venue lacking regard for pace. Tank tops and few repaired divots speaks volumes of oversight issues. OK playing w/discount; full fare better off going elsewhere.
cut the rough
The rough was too long and unfairly punished even moderately off-line shots. Even though it had just rained and they were not able to cut the roughs, the course had been playing that way all season. It took a long time to look for balls that just trickled off the fairway.
Always a good time
This course is slightly challenging but the easy greens make it fun. Worth playing for 40 bucks or less if u get a hot deal.
Rough a little too rough
Staff great, starter excellent. Beer policy was a little strange. Rough needs a little cut down, but good all around
