Potter's Park Golf Course

About
The City of Hamilton offers two municipal courses, the championship Twin Run Golf Course and the regulation-length Potters Golf Course. They both provide some of the most affordable rounds in the area. Although Potters is the easier of the two courses, it's still a fun layout that has become a favorite with locals. It's ideal for beginners but also great for a quick round no matter what skill level. The back nine plays especially fast. The holes are mostly straightforward with a few strategically placed bunkers and subtle elevation changes to contend with. Potters Golf Course may not be the most challenging round you've ever played but the casual atmosphere and fun layout shouldn't be overlooked. It's also conveniently located less than an hour from both Cincinnati and Dayton.

Excellent day, great venue!
An iconic Hamilton landmark, with a great golfing day. Played 18 in less than 3 hrs on a Friday afternoon. Course in great shape with the summer we've had. Only issue being the course pro shop attendant being extremely slooow.
Nice golfing place
Been golfing here for yrs finally got a hole One on 11 hole it my second place ,best twin run little better!
Great Vibe, Excellent time overall
This place was really cool. It’s got a very old school feel in the clubhouse. Everything is very well maintained.
As for the actual golf, course was also in excellent shape, the greens weren’t full of pitch marks like so many these days. They really take pride in this place and it shows. The holes were short but not straightforward with how attack. Had to actually use your brain from the tips on how to position vs just hitting as far as possible like you do at most courses around here. Took a lot of 4/5 irons and 7 woods off the tee on the par 4/5’s which is not something me or my playing partners often do. Front 9 was one of my favorite 9’s in the area.
Back 9 left a lot to be desired, it was almost like they ran out of space. As someone who fights a pull, I felt the layout had other people in legitimate danger. I took some very overly safe lines because of this and it really hurt my score and ability to attack these holes. I think the back would be a lot more fun on a less busy day, but I was just hoping it would end by hole 15.
Pace was very “relaxed”. No marshall that I saw to keep the groups moving so it ended up being close to a 5 hour round. I kind of expect that on weekends these days but with the shorter length of the course it felt excessive. With the previously mentioned pull it got even more unnerving to be hitting with people in my danger zone after I’ve been getting cold for 15 minutes on the tee box.
Overall, I loved the course and vibe. I would really enjoy an early morning tee time where I can set the pace and not be hitting with crowds so close to the fairways. Will definitely return, but will opt for the 7am tee time instead of the 9 am.
Great Day for Golf!
Love this course. Long front nine, short back nine helps my play. Makes me want to come back! LOL!
Nice course, solid value
Course was in very nice shape considering the time of the year and the overall weather this Summer. Tee boxes were a little rough, fairways were still pretty nice and greens rolled well. Pace of play was excellant as we finished in 3 hours 45 minutes after a 10:40 tee time. Thanks to Golf Now, an excellant value. Will definitely be back again.
Great course horrible management
The course was well maintained and had a nice layout. The pace of play was terrible it took 2 hours to get through 6 holes and there was no warden to tell people to speed it up. There was also only one person in the clubhouse for checking in and serving food/drinks it took 20 minutes just to get some drinks at the turn and they weren’t cooking any food
Slow.
Slow, brutal slow. Waiting on tee boxes for 20+ minutes. Groups playing in 6 somes probably didn’t help. Okay conditions, tee boxes were goat track like, greens pretty solid. Walked off after almost 3 hour front 9.
What a perfect golf day.
Temperature was upper 70's (in August!) and my playing partner and I hit the rare jackpot of no one in front of us for the entire day. Course was in great shape despite a hot summer.
Had to play front twice! Ridiculous
Paid for a full 18 on golf now. Went to make the turn and was told I’d have to play the front again, as there was a league playing the back. I was never made aware of this when booking the tee time or checking in. Very frustrating and disappointing experience.
