Slow play
Nice course decent layout for the time of year and the dryer conditions. It wasn’t in bad shape. Greens were really nice. Unfortunately the pace of play was so extremely slow. It really leaves a bad feeling about the course. No rangers no one out to patrol. Front line was kind of slow when we made the turn we had a twosome jump in between us in the group that was ahead of us, which meant by the 13th hole. We were a whole and a half behind
2 hr front nine to over 3 hr back nine!!
Probably could use some ranges out to control the pace of play
My impression
The pace of play was not very good. Over 5 hours to play. No rangers to enforce pace of play. According to the cart gps we were about 40 minutes behind the pace it said that we should have been. We waited on every shot from tee to green. Will not be going back this year for sure.
Nice layout
The layouts nice and was a good pace of play. Course is playing a little tougher now with the rough a little bit thicker. There were a few burned out spots but the rest of the course was in decent shape.
Awefull!!!!!!
Worst course I've ever played. Never going back. Staff is soooooo rude and unfriendly. They dont care about the golfer. Your just a number. They just want to take your money and then they're done with you. Course is in really bad shape. Fairways are dead, greens have weeds and tees are like hitting on the moon. Full of craters. Definitely not worth $50. Not even $10. DO NOT GO THERE. You'll regret it for shure.
Great layout, very penalizing rough
Was welcomed as soon as I walked in the door, got me checked in quickly. At the turn the lady at the snack shop was extremely nice and friendly. Luckless I was paired with a couple guys that knew the course because there are some blind tee shots. Tees boxes, fairway and greens were in fantastic shape! Rough could use a good cut, 3-4 inches. thick slightly wet rough was no fun.
I will definitely play here again!
Very tight course
Lots of BIG trees make tight and small fairways. Also can be dangerous because of side by side holes.
Greens and fairways were in good shape but par 3 Tee boxes needed work.
Wow What A Wild Ride
If ever there was a golf course that was a roller coaster, this would be it. The terrain on this course is a abrupt with large elevation changes and several valleys throughout the property. The course was built in two phrases with the original holes being closest to the clubhouse. The new holes and old holes are obvious; however, they seem to work as a whole.
If there is a negative, it would be the ling uphill walks between the old and new holes in two locations during routing. As a result, walking is not recommended.
If you are a fan of quirky, rumbling, and hilly courses then Somerset is for you.
Fun, Interesting Course in Cincy
We played here for the first time after a lot of rain the night before and still had a good time. You get a little bit of everything at South Trace including some quirky holes, strong doglegs, and a few blind shots. The par 3's in particular were memorable, fair, and fun. The course would be really pretty when the trees are fully bloomed. We paid $16 with the Tee Time Passbook. Staff was friendly. I'd play again.
League play
I have been playing this course for many years. Course has seen a few changes and they all have been to the good. Well maintained, perfect for your average golfer with some challenges.
