Avoid the red course for this year
Booked the red course vs the blue course due to higher ratings between the two. The red course is under maintenance with 4-5 holes being impacted by turning them into par 3's and shorting the round. No warning was given prior to booking the round and no discount offered. In addition, temporary greens were put in that are terrible and "unputtable". In addition, we had to wait for a worker to casually get out from in front of a tee box while leaving his construction equipment in the middle of the fairway. I would recommend waiting until their renovations are done before coming here again.
Nice course
The course is undergoing some renovations. Can't wait to see the improvements/vision of the course after the work is complete
Staff makes the difference
If you get the right staff you're in great shape. The starter got me off in front of a huge group. And big groups seem to be a thing here no matter the day of the week. That alone saved me a couple hours at least in terms of pace of play. So big thanks to the proshop and starter.
Recent rain helped the course conditions, too.
Still not the best bang for your buck though, unfortunately. If you have to drive more than 15 minutes to get here there is a better course closer to you for the same price.
There are no off course amenities to brag about.
Yes, but only as course of last resort
Pace of play is terrible and management doesn't seem to care. I was stuck behind a 6-some...yes, six people. The delay was so bad that when it came time to make the turn I was faced with waiting behind a group of 35-40 (that number is not an exaggeration).
The remedy options offered: free hotdog and play the Blue course, or take a 9 hole rain check. The management tone made it clear that he believed this wasn't his problem to help solve.
I countered with just replaying the front nine. Manager then had a full volume conversation in the tee box even after I asked him to make space.
This course itself is worth $20/round. There is no driving range, only a promise for one in 2 years. Both putting greens are in unplayable condition.
Slow play
Tee time was at noon on a Sunday. The backup was very noticeable. Had to wait 5-10 minutes on every hole to tee off due to number of foursomes playing at the time. Course is fairly wide open and not difficult for an intermediate golfer.
Just needs a little more maintenance of the overall course from the greens to the trash bins on the course .
