Red at Highland Park Golf Course

The afternoon rangers (young kids) were not doing their jobs properly. Out on the course there were young kids playing and disrepecting the course with their carts. I complained when I finished and the same kids just drove their cart onto 18 green. He then went out and told them. They need to retrain the employees or find better ones!

Booked this course on GolfNow (18 Holes/With Cart) a week in advance because there was a good deal. It rained the night prior and the employees said no carts were going out the day of my time with no courtesy call. Now I have to deal with GolfNow to try and get my $100 back for a round I never played. The manager told me “this is a public course” when I complained about the dilemma I had been placed in. He was certainly right though, it is a public course and the worst one around. The starter is also a racist.

If you are looking for a low key and friendly place to play golf, this is the place. If you are looking for a formal and perfect place, pay more and choose another course. I love this place because it is as good of a course as I need, people allow you to be a beginner or a stud and the people that work there let you come as you are just go play.

I appreciate that there are better manicured, more formal and much more expensive places…. And so appreciate that places like the historic Highland golf course exists.

Called ahead and booked, told us it would cost $14. Showed up and the lady refused to honor what they said over the phone and charged us $25 for 9 holes. I had to wipe the seats down because of dirty they were, leaves and trash in the back of the cart. Go to the first tee box, no tee box markers. Guy said "its early in the year, how can you expect us to have the course ready". Maybe discount the price if thats the case. Club house is large, but there are just empty rooms with nothing in them. The course could be excellent, located right by the top 50 richest towns in the United States and they barely even try. I want to buy this course and fix it. Please don't waste your money here, they don't put any effort into anything. I will never give them another dime.

Staff was extremely rude, the cart man was extremely pushy and aggressive. Was not fun to deal with that. Outside of this, the course is nice and was fun.

Very interesting course. This 9 is very hilly , different from most courses in the upper midwest. Fun to play - need to keep close to fairway and watch out for creeks crossing and abutting course. This is early in year, but only yardage stack was on 18 and no markings at the tee boxes. Still a good time for a scrappy April.

Paid online, no staff to check in with, played only because it was the only thing open. Should of been free for as bad as the course was, still needs a major drainage system installed.

Since it was unseasonably warm, the course took advantage of players and charged a unfair price in my opinion...

Course is almost back to shape, work on the tee boxes is needed.

The condition of the course is good but the management is poor. The kitchen is closes and has been for a while now. Their ice machine is broken so you can buy beverages but you get no ice. We played 18 holes for 40.00 then played another 18 holes and they only discounted the second 18 holes by 2.00 so it was 38.00. Which is barely a discount.

This course is average. The pace is extremely slow. It had been raining a lot, so the course was pretty water logged. It took us 5 hours or so to complete an 18 hole round. We were basically on someone’s heels, who was on someone’s heels, etc. it’s kind of a challenging course too! It was fun to play when we weren’t waiting fifteen minutes to hit. Also, there’s no food except for some chips. We didn’t know and we’re hoping to get lunch at the course. No big deal, just something to be aware of! The prices on drinks were great.

Really cool old course (two of them actually) which the crew in charge has done a great job of fixing up. Lot of interesting and challenging holes and the staff is nice and helpful.

Clubhouse is extremely limited in amenities, they don't even have roller dogs. However there is huge potential and I hope they get around to returning the clubhouse to its former glory.

There is no ranger out on the course and people are not gonna offer to let you play through, just a heads up.
