Maybe theyre short staffed. Greens were beautiful. Tee boxes were terrible!! Tough back 9. Lots of trees. Have to be precise
Poorly managed course
So much sand, tee boxes are bad. Greens are worse. So many 90* turns in holes, terrible lay out. Over booked course. Nice staff though
Play was too slow. Never saw a ranger until about the 13th hole. Didn’t do much to get it moving. Staff in the clubhouse were friendly. Course was in good shape except the white tees were like an after thought.
Won’t play again.
From course layout, to pace of play, to course conditions…this was not a good course. I think they could benefit from better course care and pace of play. I wish I could come back here because it’s close to my house but it’s not enjoyable.
very challenging with beautiful greens-putted the best in a long time. had two birdies one a short putt and another unexpected chip in. Few holes on back nine difficult due to small opening out of gate tee area to fairway. most holes are different from each other-makes for a fun round. you can walk if you like-level and not too long. save $10 in the process.
Overall it wasn’t a terrible round. Seemed a bit unorganized from the club house to the first tee box. Carts though functional are very old, windshield on 28 was bouncing off most of the front nine. If you want to break the majority of your clubs out, you’ll have enough distance off the black and blue boxes. Largest complaint is the course management, moreover the Maintenence on the fairways.
Senior tees are a big advantage at this course. Ground was very dry and a lot of roll today Shot a 75 . One under front 9 . Back 9 is definitely more challenging
The staff was nice, the course was in terrible condition, the boxes were terribly uneven an not mowed an covered in crabgrass, fairways were the nicest part of the course, the greens were not the best a lot of them had burn marks an dead grass spots making it impossible to putt at times, the pace of play was terrible but that’s not the courses fault people are just down right rude group of four older women wouldn’t let a single guy play threw an me an my buddy were behind him….the course layout is good on the front but the back 9 is terrible
A great bang for your buck
This was my first time playing Raccoon Hill and while it’s not the nicest course out there, it certainly is a good course when the money is right. This is a great place to take a person golfing who doesn’t golf often. They also get you on the course quick, so don’t feel like it will be a pain to get on the course, you get in your cart and go. Very fluid. Also, the staff is quite friendly. You will have a good time if you keep expectations low.
Good course - lots of obstacles
We’ve played this course a few times this year, and easily lose 6 balls a piece. The grass is so tall, once you hit you can’t find it. Staff is awesome, course is taken care of. Difficult play, drinks are on the more expensive side (we paid $40 for six “high noons” with tip. We paid $18 at three previous courses for the same). However, golf is less expensive here so it evens out. Nice staff though!
Workers were very nice and friendly. Fairway/greens are Well kept. I would play there all the time but I live 45 minutes away.
Fun, short, but challenging course (6,200 from the back tees) with cool little doglegs that can be attacked if you can shape shots.
I’ve played here many times over the years and it is perhaps in the best of shape in a number of years, especially the greens. They were firm and fast (even after a few days of thunderstorms)!! Fairways were nicely cut and the rough was just right! Kudos to the grounds crew.
The staff is always cool and friendly!
