What happened??
What happened?? This course use to be a nice municipal course, now it is the drizzling craps! No grass in fairways, greens are crap with divots and obvious marks from losers hitting it with their putters… just crap. Also, the type of ppl they are allowing on the course is pathetic, Jean shorts, sweat pants…. Just garbage.
As I remembered, which isn't good
The year is 1860. The nation is on the precipice of a Civil War. A1 Sauce is currently being invented. It's also the last time this golf course was watered. I played years ago and it was dry as a bone and I went back yesterday after finding a deal for $13. Nothing has changed. Bare spots everywhere, greens included. The areas in the shade have some rain retention, so they appear green, but that also makes the course incredibly inconsistent. Most greens are extremely fast, then you'll have one that's like walking on a pillow and the speed is slow. You'll get plenty of roll in the fairways, but feel free to move your ball onto some grass when you get there. Same for bunkers where you'll give yourself relief from the rocks to save your sand wedge. Overall, glad I paid what I paid. I wouldn't go back for full price.
The staff at Cranbury, time and time again, are beyond exceptional. Genuinely, the staff seem to be happy to greet you when checking in for your tee time and seem invested in you having a great golf outing. They are not pushy, and there's no strict/obsessive unneeded oversight. The course itself may have its shortcomings in terms of upkeep, but the staff alone can make this enjoyable nonetheless.
Public course
Course is pretty banged up. Tee boxes are in poor condition and many greens are damaged. Pace of play impacted by 2 somes intermingled with four somes. Was fairly cheap so all of this expected.
Condition is horrendous
Condition of this course Is absolutely embarrassing. It appears as though no one has cared for it a month. Even the sand they have to replace in the bunkers has grass growing from it, so it tells you alot about the last time someone took the time to care for it. Bunkers were equal to a baseball infield with rocks and grass mixed in.... greens were absolutely terrible. Not only with unfixed divots but dead spot and even holes with literal cracks in the green.....
This course should and will be houses in the coming years.
I will play again
Staff is friendly. The course is well maintained for the most part, the greens are well kept and the pace of play is good and it's easy to walk.
Not a friendly course
This course is poorly managed. Tee boxes were in such bad shape you could barely place a tee. They allowed four golfers to share two sets of clubs and even drive carts up near the greens, with staff ignoring it all. The starter’s rude attitude only made things worse. For the price, this place is unacceptable and I would not recommend it.
Friendly staff but course needs work
Played this course before, but returned to find the fairways have a lot of dirt / crabgrass on them.
Friendly staff and starter though!
Pace of Play Issues
Be cautious when booking a tee time after 8:15am. While the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, the course unfortunately struggles with pace-of-play management. Without proper monitoring or enforcement, rounds can easily stretch to five hours. It can become so slow that continuing your game may feel pointless. Great people, but the experience suffers due to poor flow on the course.
Great day, course OK
I had a great day golfing. Great company, great service from employees on course, great weather. Everything was great except the course itself. Most of the coirse was good. But bad thing were spots on the course that weren't great. Goose poop all over 1 green. A few bare tee boxes. Some Fringes were dirt not grass. Then worst of all was no grass in parts of some fairways. You are supposed to be rewarded when hitting the fairway not penalized by hitting off dirt or burnt out grass. I don't hit many fairways so you can see my disappointment. All in all, it's a good course for the money. Just hoping it doesn't get worse if we don't get more rain.
Bad shape
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly but paying what we paid for a mostly hard fairway and greens not worth it.
It’s in bad shape!
The staff are super friendly and the club house has cold beer and good food. But the course is in terrible shape.
