Enjoyed the course
We enjoyed the course. Considering the lack of rain it was in great shape. Greens are nice. To many ball marks that was a surprise but was great pace of play.
greens fast and true always plays in less then 4 hours
Not Worth The Cost - Needs Improvement
When we showed up for the tee time 30 minutes ahead to use the range, there were zero golf carts available and no range balls ready to hit. The excuse by the front desk was that the carts were lent out all morning for a tournament in Trenton, but hopefully would return by our tee time; otherwise we'd walk (with my 70 year old father in law and girlfriend)...when going down to the range, the max distance to hit is around 150 yards, and no balls are set up and no staff around to discuss where to get them. It was a true disappointment, but overall after waiting for the cart and then playing the course, the greens were nice and so were the fairways. Not worth $80 what so ever or to even claim the course is a private club.
Prefer to Ride
SO I screwed up by not seeing that my booking was walking only, and I forgot my pull cart (which I hadn't used in 2 years). They also didn't have any to rent (since it's a private club) but there were a couple junkers members had left which my buddy and I adopted for the round. Mine made it halfway down the 1st fairway, when a metal support bent 90 degrees, rendering it useless.
But I don't hold that against them and I look forward to playing when I can ride since I couldn't make it through the round on foot, and it's an easy walking course if I was in shape for it, but not also carrying clubs at least part of the time.
There's nothing fancy, just some nice playable holes with nothing tricked up and just enough in the way of hazards to make it legit. Few bunkers and just some water, and greens are on the smaller side as with most old clubs. But conditions were excellent for February and greens were a nice speed and clean rolls.
Staff was friendly and the 19th hole was very nice and modern, with a decent burger for a couple hungry, tired guys.
First Timer
Nice conditions for a mod winter round. Helpful staff. Appreciate the chance to play a well maintained private track.
