Crabgrass everywhere
Fairways and tees are worst I have seen in a long time...crabgrass and barren spots everywhere...greens were pretty good though which made it playable...staff is very nice
Disappointing
I’ve always enjoyed Princeton, but was really disappointed in conditions. From tee to greens it was as bad as I have seen it. It needs some serious TLC. Mosquitoes were also out of control, I was eaten alive on the back 9. There’s also just people jumping around, playing whatever holes in the order they feel like. Pace of play was a problem. Overall, I hope they can get it back to being playable, for now it is not.
Holes 13 to 17 need professional drainage work
The front nine was a pleasure to play.
Mercer County needs to redesign the back nine and hirer a drainage consultant,
Never go back there
I booked this course because it was advertised as a “Hot Deal,” but after booking, I found out it was a walking rate and I had to pay an additional $20 cart fee, so it really wasn’t much of a deal after all.
Parking was another issue. There wasn’t enough parking available, so I had to park along the side of the road.
The worst part, however, was the course condition. I understand that it had rained the day before, but the conditions were far beyond what could reasonably be blamed on one day of rain. There was so much standing water on the course that we literally had to walk through water in many areas.
The fairways were full of weeds, the greens were in terrible condition, and even the tee boxes were covered with weeds. Overall, the course was extremely poorly maintained and the experience was very disappointing.
Unfortunately, this is a golf course I have no desire to play again.
Not worth it to.play
This was my first time playing at this golf course, and I was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the overall condition of the course.
It had rained the day before, but since the weather was hot the following day, I didn’t expect to see so much standing water throughout the course. There were many areas with poor drainage, patches with little or no grass, and in some places, it honestly seemed like there were more weeds than actual grass.
What made it even more disappointing was the price. The green fee was already quite expensive considering the condition of the course, and then they charged an additional $20 per person for the cart.
For the amount they charge, I expected a much better maintained course. Unfortunately, it was definitely not worth the price, and I would not come back.
Not worth the money
I usually do not reviews of the courses I play. I usually play courses through golfnow. They advertise the price which I didn't realize was walking only for about 30 bucks and then charge me $20 for a cart. At least I did not have to share the cart. The first nine holes were decent enough and played very well. The last nine holes I should have brought some snorkeling or scuba dive material because most of the fairways and rough were underwater. It had rained the night before and was intermittently raining lightly the time of play but appeared to be more of a swampy pond on the last nine holes. Also there was so much geese poop that I thought it was guano farm! Also it smelled like a cesspool. The last contention point was the person at the pro shop was very rude. This course was one and done it's not worth the money or my time to play there!
need to fix some things
greens are not in the best shape and some of the fairways are just dirt in some areas
Excellent overall conditions
Nice course in great shape. All greens were in great shape. Fairways excellent despite heavy rain the day before. Starter was friendly. Pace was quick. Ranger was roaming to keep everyone moving. Putting green was filled with kids from day camp but they were respectful Greens are nice size. Fairways were cut and green. Tee boxes in good shape. Gas carts work well ($20 per person is steep!)
Meh
Conditions are not so good. Geese poop everywhere and mosquitos will eat you alive.
Interesting staff
Beautiful course, but I learned the cart path isn’t just a suggestion—it’s apparently a lifestyle. Drift one inch off it and you’ll hear a voice from somewhere across the property reminding you of your life choices. I’m pretty sure the marshal has eagle vision and a sixth sense for rogue golf carts.
Course was in great shape though, and at least now I know my cart can hug a path with PGA Tour accuracy.
Ranger
One of the rangers, this older black women seems to have an ego trip as ranger and so the pace gets stuck. E.g., a single rider can’t play through 4some walkers… terrible for the game
Nice course and layout
Course was in good shape. S I me challenging holes and some wide open ones. Lots of dog legs. Good greens and tee boxes
Fun course - rude cart lady
Overall this is a pretty fun course, unfortunately their cart woman is extremely rude and had the audacity to confront us after 15 holes because their starter sent us off in three carts (threesome and a single). She then actually kicked the single player out of his cart and made him ride with me for the remaining three holes - while there were 50+ unused carts sitting in the lot. Absolutely ridiculous situation in itself and completely unnecessary, however the “cart warden’s” attitude is what many of us come out on the golf course to avoid. This will be my first and last time playing here.
We had a wonderful time.
I was here last year.
First time this year, much better than last year :)
Fairway conditions are pretty decent.
Greens are slow rate perhaps 4 but very well maintained.
4 of us, we had a wonderful time.
I loved to play again.
Thanks,
Kevin K.
