Needs love
Every tee box is like teeing up in the rough. Everyone needs tilled and reseeded crab grass has taking them over along with a lot of fairways. Mercer county needs to do some maintenance
Good value for money
Course in reasonable condition. Tight 18 hole course but fun to play
Such a shame
Over the last 3 years I’ve played PCC about 12 times. It’s affordable, challenging, well laid out, and was always well taken care of. But when I played yesterday for the first time this year I couldn’t believe what I saw. Each tee box was riddled with crab grass. Each fairway infested with bald spots. And then there was the greens - pebbles everywhere. Crab grass. Geese droppings. Ball marks galore. They clearly stopped caring about this course and it’s a shame. What once was my go-to course has now been permanently crssed off the list. PCC has become Old Orchard - a course with a tremendous layout that went to irreversible trash.
Beginner’s course
I play off five but my Son is 30+ and we wanted somewhere for him. Course is ok but it’s quite short, full of beginners with no etiquette for the game and not in great condition.
It was however very reasonably priced and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Overall a 3/5 course
Very good value for the money
I enjoy playing Princeton, always in good condition, moves at a decent pace, staff is always friendly and helpful, very good value for the money
Great to Get Out and New Golfers!
Princeton is a very nice course if you’re looking to get out get or some inexpensive and low-key golfing easily typically without advance tee times depending on when you play. It it was built in the mid 50s., a long time local course and is a smaller course in length and very tight.
Being a public course that is typically in moderate to very good condition, considering the play that it gets honestly is often pretty good given the cost of a round and compared to many much more expensive courses!. It also often has beginners and moderate golfers that are learning, not knowledgeable of golf etiquette and rules, which does slow play!
Typically I go for nine holes as the back nine is very tight and congested overall, it typically works out if you have some patience for the novice golfers that will slow your around!
