Really like this course
They’ve obviously done tons of work to this course over the last few years and continue to make improvements. Layout is challenging yet playable. The cart paths will break your back but the quality of the course is more important and it really drains well so even after a rain it’s not usually an issue.
Improvements are showing
Course was in great condition and much of the work in the spring has been completed and is paying dividends.
Love the layout . Course will be a 5 next year
This course has so much potential. Greens are great, would like to see the fairway grass a little higher, sand traps have plenty of sand. Cart paths need work, for the price, you won’t find a better course. Because of COVID they don’t have drinking water, they should have a cart going around the course, they have a shed with food and beverages, but you have to wait to long to get there. Overall, I love what they did to the course and look forward to playing there again.
Overall good
I like this course and conitions continue to improve. Staters and bag handlers very pushy, bedding for tips.
Good add to rotation
If you like playing a variety of courses around Philadelphia, it's worth your while to add this course to your rotation. The course conditions were superb from tee boxes to the perfect greens which were neither too fast nor too slow, but also with a fair amount of trickiness. You'd probably have to play the course multiple times to learn these greeens, but I did okay on my first play.
While every hole is tree-lined on both sides, being cut from the NJ pine barrens, the fairways offered enough space to work but be advised if you spray your driver, expect a long day. But you probably won't lose many balls as the underbrush is cut down.
Every hole (except one) is fair if you hit it straight off the tee, and there's a tee box for every level. Hardly any water but nicely bunkered mostly near the greens. Approaches are generally free from hazards and there aren't any force carries.
Now for the not so great part. For some crazy reason, they don't allow coolers in the carts even if you show you only have water or soft drinks. On a very hot day, not allowing coolers is close to insane and it isn't like they have free water out there or a cart girl. So if it's just about keeping people from bringing beers out on the course in violation of liqour licensing, it's wrong to deny everyone else to keep their beverages cold on a hot day. As a result, I probably would not choose this course on any day over 85 degrees.
Lots of courses have restrictions on coolers. Some provide a cooler on the cart and give you ice to go with it, but most have the rule to keep you from bringing alcohol onto the course. They should go that route instead of punishing everyone.
Always surprised
Every time I play here there is always more improvement done. Really a nice course and getting better every time.
Wow this course will be Premier soon
The new management is on the right track they just need a little more time to fix the cart paths and a little more or the tees (Some). Weather was great the new rough can be tough They are working there. Just a nice place to play. I'll be back.
Night and Day
If you haven’t returned to Pinelands you must reconsider. Course conditions were so much better than years ago. I will definitely play again. Not sure if is just money or groundskeeper but what a world of difference. Keep up the good work. One small complaint, hire a beer cart girl - too hot to have to wait to get to halfway house. Probably make money on it anyway.
Course in excellent conditions
They are actively working on the course, but not all amenities available. Course is really in perfect condition, but it is pretty straight and low difficulty.
No coolers allowed on the course, even in 100 degree weather. Waters and beers were hot in seconds
Good Challenge
It was so hot that after we finished our round we went to Hades to cool off.
Upgrades keep happening
Course is in overall great shape. Really nice updates already done and still happening. I didn't even recognize hole 17 green area.
Solid course
Was told new family bought the course and spending a lot on improvements. It shows. Solid, all be it, short course in the pines. Greens were slow but looked good and putted true. Conditions overall were good and you can see where they are improving. Use to be a dog track, but not any more. Put it on your list of places to play.
