One of the best value for your dollar courses in south Jersey
Played Pinelands in may and august of last year. In may it was in good shape. August it was in HORRIBLE shape. However I decided to give it another chance due to the recent reviews.
The course now is in really good shape. The greens are fantastic! The best greens I’ve seen so far this year. Fairways are mostly good. There is some ground under repair areas and dirt spots but for the most part it’s really good.
They also just got new carts which run very well. Right now, this is the best value course in south Jersey. If the conditions can stay the same throughout the year, while costing 49 dollars after 1 pm on weekends. It’ll stay the best value for your dollar course in south Jersey.
Pinelands Is Shaping Up To Be A Gem in South Jersey
I’m not one to normally give reviews after playing a round but Pinelands POSITIVE improvements and renovations has forced my hand. I have played here a few times in the past and always found it difficult due to rough conditions, many leaves scattered around the holes during the Fall, and numerous amount of trees, but after 18 holes on 5/1/21, I can honestly say, the management and grounds crew are moving in the right direction. Before teeing off, the ranger told us they already cut down 3000 trees!
The tee boxes are in better shape but the greens are in FANTASTIC condition. My dad, brother, and I couldn’t believe it! It was nice putting on a cleaner surface for a change. My only gripe is that the fairways need to be given a little more attention since I found them harder than normal and chewed up a bit more times than not. Being a public course that’s to be expected but after seeing their greens in top notch condition, I’m sure that’s next on their list.
For those who haven’t played here in a while (you need to come back) and for those first time players (put this on your list). I currently live 40 minutes away and it’s certainly worth the drive and will be adding Pinelands to my rotation with family and friends.
Pinelands is home of me breaking 40 (39) on the back 9 for the first time ever. I’ll certainly be back sooner than later and can’t wait to see more improvements in the months ahead.
And by the way #16 (Par 3) has vibes of Augusta. Nice back drop for a photo.
Outstanding Conditions
I haven't played Pinelands for nearly 40 years. I found the tee boxes, greens and the area around the greens to be in immaculate conditions. It was a very enjoyable round and will be back to play soon!
Really Nice
The greens were beautiful. The owner should be proud of his commitment to improve the course conditions. Everything is is in great condition for a public course.
Great place to play
The Pinelands golf course is absolutely beautiful and amazing and it’s only going to get better as the season progresses. The new carts came in as I was walking up to play. It’s truly a great day when I get a tee time. I travel 46 miles back and forth a couple days a week because of the course and people.
Improved
The course is so much better than a few years ago. The owner is putting $ in it and it shows. Green we’re just punched so they were a little bumpy. Very enjoyable course.
Great course
Really enjoyed playing. They did a lot of work cutting down branches and trees and it shows. The greens were in great shape. No complaints there. The pace was a little slow and I wish the price would stay around 40 like it was last season.
Great Improvements
This course has improved greatly over the past few years. My son and I were impressed at the shape the course was in, given how early in the season it still is. Many overgrown trees have been taken down. The greens had been in great shape since last year, but you can tell that a lot of work has been done in the fairways and, especially, the tee boxes. For a cloudy, windy, drizzly day, we still thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at Pinelands.
