Meadows/Woodside at Weatherwax Golf Course

I had heard that this 36 hole gem was closing, so myself and a buddy decided to get in one last round.
We played on a Monday (my day off) and wanted to try to play all 36 holes($25 all you can play). The course showed some signs of neglect but was still better than some courses I played this year. I'm really concerned about the number of golf course closings in this area, and this one in particular will be sorely missed!

The gentleman in the pro shop was the most unfriendly person I have encountered in the golf business. He does not even respond when you walk in and say hello. May be part of the reason course is closing soon.

This is a good Arthur Hills Course. It is closing on November 6, 2016. Too bad!

I have always loved playing Weatherwax regardless of which 18 we were playing. Over the past 24 months rumors have been flying around about the course being sold, closing etc with the latest being this is the final year. We wanted to play it again while the weather was good and glad we did. Highlands played its usual tough self and was in pretty good condition then we moved on to Meadows. Meadows was in OK shape and no where near as good as the front 9.

We decided to have a drink on the patio as it was such a beautiful evening and found out that the corse has 30 days left and will close on Nov 7th. We will be sad to see this gem of a course (4 9's), If you haven't played it or want to one last time do it now.

To the staff at Weatherwax, thank you for the years of great golf.

Sorry to say this course close for good November 1 of 2016. It is a 36 hole course beautifully laid out in southwestern Ohio apparently the city of Middletown taxpayers did not want to support the course any longer

Been playing this course for years.it's a must play!!! Course will be closing at the end of this season you don't want to let this place close without checking it out

Considering recird longevity of heat up in the 90s, the course is in great shape as compared to other courses.

Some of the reviews not as favorable are from golfers who appear not to play other courses.

Apparently they are getting ready to close down this course they have stopped maintaining greens tee boxes Fairways all in bad condition still charging full rate not happy with course

I played Valley View and Meadows Sept 3rd. The tee boxes are in pretty rough condition with weeds and bare dirt. Some of the greens have bare patches.

Pace of play was excellent as there were very few golfers out.

Been 30 yrs. since I played the course. Tees fairways and a lot of the greens had bare spots. Not sure what the issues were? I played meadow and Woodside courses. Course has 4 nine hole courses. Not sure about other 2 but course conditions were not good.

Read earlier reviews about the course conditions. Yes they are not in very good condition. My reasoning is why bother. The golf will be permanently closed after a couple more months. Why should they put money into it? I have played many courses throughout the tri state area and this course is always busy. Will never understand why this course lost money in the past. Sad to see this course go down the tubes, was once a great course. They should have kept 18 holes and sold the other 18 off.

I cannot believe this is getting 4 stars ! Either the other reviewers are fake or outdated by many years. The golf course was a joke - The greens were bald on numerous places - so muddy without any grass. The fairways were well beyond the point of pathetic. Many tees had nothing but weeds growing on them. STAY AWAY. I took pictures documenting the shape of the course

This course is in horrible shape and you should think twice about playing it.

I was stoked to come down and finally play weather wax but little to my knowledge was that this was their last year of operation and boy did it show. You could tell that they have given up on the course, the fairways were burnt out and the greens were absolutely in horrible condition from not being cut in almost a week. Overall it's sad to see courses go but if this is how they want to go out then I can't feel sorry for them in the least.

The summer drought has taken it toll on the course. Many bare spots on each hole. Just had some recent rains which will help. However the grounds crew was clearly behind on mowing the course. Lots of inconsitancies. Also it was pretty much pointless to use your putter on the greens due to all the grass clippings left behind.

Greens were in very rough shape. The course needs irrigation. It was baked

Good value, since the course is closing next year. I would suggest going up and playing a couple times this year.

Great lay out, fairly long on some par 4's, and par 3's.

The course was great as usual but not have water on a course when it's nearing 100 degrees is terrible, and the staff behind counter to pay for round was unhappy with having to deal with golf now patrons. At least that's what it sounded like to me. The course is great and to be fair this is first time I've ever had this type of experience at this course, which I've played dozens of times.
