Brown's Run Country Club in Middletown offers a championship layout that stretches to just over 6,830 yards. The team of William and Brian Gordon, brothers who have designed more than 85 golf courses all over the U.S., designed Brown's Run in 1958. It has a classic layout that is gentle enough for beginners, but it is an enjoyable round no matter what skill level. There are a few strategically placed sand traps throughout the golf course, which make up for the absence of water. The design is pretty straightforward although there are a few slight doglegs to watch out for. In addition to the challenging but playable design, the course boasts some of the finest fairways and greens in the area. Brown's Run also offers other amenities including an Olympic-size pool and four lighted tennis courts.

Pace of play and friendliness
I love the course layout and conditions are pristine. The pace of play every time we play is 4 1/2 - 5 hours. The people that work there make you feel like you are bothering them instead of making you feel they want you to come back.
Friday golf
Course was in great shape for this time of year.
Greens were fast. Pace of play was good finished under 4 hours.

I’ve played here twice now and I really like it, not over challenging but also some holes that make you think and challenge your IQ of the game, I’ll play here again
Good Condition
Greens were nice and fast which I prefer, the entire course seemed to be well taken care of. I would play here again and would recommend trying it out if you can

Golf + Poker = Perfect Day
Played 18 is under 3 hrs in the afternoon and played in Texas Hold'em tournament that evening. Friendly staff, nice layout that is in good condition considering recent storms.
Great Greens!
I play here quite often and the course has been in amazing condition this year. The greens were in play mode this week with fast spots and hard pin placements. Can't wait to play it again!
Not worth money
Charged $72 for 18 on what ever day it was. Grass was over grown causing you to look for ball longer than it should. Then come and tell us to skip holes, send messages on the cpu. Never go back
Flat, Weedy, no water on course, lot of doglegs but no other interesting landscape
Course needs some work especially on tees and greens. Lots of doglegs but no other interesting features. No water on course on a very hot day. Will not be going back.
Thick Rough! Great Greens!
Tough course if you don't stay straight. Tge rough will get you in most places. Greens were in great condition.
Perfect Weather Day
A few years ago, the greens were lightening quick and firmer. For the past 2, they have not been. I like to challenge myself a good bit, so I liked it the way it used to be. You are not the only course doing this. I have noticed a number of courses doing it in order to help speed up play. Faster play = more $$$$, I get it.
Rookie management
Golfers are anngry about non golf issues. No carts in parking lot so you can’t smuggle beer. Low quality carts. No kitchen. No water. Junk cart paths. Switched front and back nines that are decades old. Rookies. No pro= no surprise. Nice old private club gone amateur

On site at 6/7/26. Rough penal but good. Fairways were great! Greens in good shape, wish you would speed them up. Thanks for reviving this course. Great track.
Need a lawnmower
The staff was fantastic, but the course needs a lawn mower. The rough was entirely too long for fairways that narrow and greens that small. The greens could also use a mow. They were very slow. The bunkers also had no sand. I know it’s been raining, but you couldn’t even rake them to make a space to hit out of.
