Brown's Run Country Club

About
Brown's Run Country Club in Middletown offers a championship layout that stretches to just over 6,830 yards. The team of William and Brian Gordon, brothers who have designed more than 85 golf courses all over the U.S., designed Brown's Run in 1958. It has a classic layout that is gentle enough for beginners, but it is an enjoyable round no matter what skill level. There are a few strategically placed sand traps throughout the golf course, which make up for the absence of water. The design is pretty straightforward although there are a few slight doglegs to watch out for. In addition to the challenging but playable design, the course boasts some of the finest fairways and greens in the area. Brown's Run also offers other amenities including an Olympic-size pool and four lighted tennis courts.

Great course
Course is in great conditions. Greens in good pace, fairways & tees are fantastic. Great course for walking. There’s more room on several holes than you think. Having some prior knowledge on 2-3 holes would be more helpful, but not necessary. Would love to play again.
Fantastic Course!
Always a great place to play! Fairways and Greens in excellent shape! Tee boxes were good. Club has updated the Proshop and tees have new markers. Always enjoy playing Browns Run throughout the season!
Great value
The course is in great condition, I have played there several times a year for 4-5 years, each year the conditions have improved (2019’ish I would not have given a positive review on the course conditions)
The pro shop is nothing special but the food in the restaurant has never disappointed.
Great value overall
A well maintained hidden gem; peaceful & secluded.
Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape & rolled true! The course itself has a great flow hole-to-hole - not a lot of time spent getting from one tee box to another and lacks the stress of having houses nearby.
It's a great parkland style course that has several dog legged holes that force the player to think strategically rather than driver off the box & repeat. Many of the holes throughout the course are gaurded by bunkers and mature treelines. The back 9 have quite a bit of undulation & subtle elevation changes that make for a challenging approch shot. Overall, the course is very re-playable and a great value. I would encourage folks from Cincinnati to make the drive, higly recommend.
Good value
The course is kept is pretty great shape. They have daily deals on their website to keep the price down a little.
The course is not easy. If you’re an average golfer expect to shoot 5 shots over what you average. I’m about a 20 handicap and I average about 96-97 here. The greens are difficult to read and bunkers guard most of them. Overall it’s well worth your money to play here .
Swamp Land
Boy was it a muddy swamp. Not the courses fault, tho. Enjoyable round there as always. Former member of 3 years and I like to go back once or twice a season. Go play it if you haven't before. You'll go back again.
Good course and kind staff
The course condition was great. The staff was very kind. I will definitely come back.
Strongly recommend!!

Nice Course BUT Overpriced
The course has definitely gotten better since the new ownership took over. Pace of play is always fantastic here, and it’s very peaceful. The rates are pretty steep for what you get, and the memberships are WAY out of line with other options in the area. The club would boost their membership level if they rolled out a more realistic price point, which would in turn generate more revenue.
Great course if you don’t like water hazards
Really enjoyed this course for the second time. Greens, fairways., and tee boxes all in great shape.
Looking forward to playing it better next time.
