Well maintained course
The course is beautiful to look at ,Fairways manicured, And a lush green grass all around. But the course wasn’t extremely challenging, Except for offering the choice of playing extremely long from the blues, the course is flat and Straight On most holes, not much in the way of trees or sand bunkers to punish players who can’t hit the ball straight which is a challenge I look for in a golf course. Don’t get me wrong the course does have some hazards but Among our three players, No one’s errant shots went into a sand bunker, or water even though those hazards were present, they just didn’t play well from their locations to punish players. Having said that I was still play it again because the value for the money, 18 holes of golf on a SaturdayFor under $30 is a deal in my book
A very basic course. Play it if that’s all you are looking for.
I was expecting much more given the course ratings I saw before booking a tee time. This course is pretty bland and basic. I wish I had driven a bit further and played Maumee Bay. It’s apparent they have a strong local following, but the fairways are mostly weeds. The greens were slow. The staff was nice enough. I play based on course quality, unfortunately that was the part that was lacking.
I'd go again
Typical course conditions for area this time of year
She's Been Better
This is a fairly straightforward course that provides some fun golf. Condition of the course was fair....spring deluges were tough on the fairways.
Good Test with small greens
This course provides a friendly layout in good condition. The greens are small and firm. They roll true and reword a good shot and stroke.
I will definitely put this in my rotation when I visit my in-laws.
It was worth the 40 minute drive from Sandusky.. The holes by the river offered a very scenic view.
unfortunate weather effects
The front nine was in good shape but the heavy spring rains and continuing high level of Lake Erie and the Portage River have played havoc with some holes on the back nine. Some places were under water so long that the grass is dead, including some of the tee boxes and fairways. The greens were all OK, but getting there was a challenge on some holes. But the people there are great and given time, I'm sure they'll get things back in shape.
Our first outing this season!
For it being so early in the season, the course was a little soggy, but in excellent condition. The staff were very outgoing and a pleasure to do business with! We're going back!(smile)...
Early Season
It is too early in the season to comment on conditions. We need to wait a little bit longer for the grass to turn green and begin growing.
Nice place
The course is in good shape. It is a pretty wide open course without a lot of ways to get into trouble. There are not a lot of trees, so left or right off the tee will not result in added strokes when getting the ball back into play. It is a nice place and good value. I would definitely play it again
Management Choice
On a Saturday afternoon I encountered 3 groups of five and a group of 8 (the latter was a bachelor party). I understand they are running a business, but such breaches of conduct ruin the experience for everyone else. It was a long round.
Fun course
This course is fun. We played the silver tees (white), I would play the blues next time to add a little length. Scenic holes on the back 9. Fairways were a little dried out but it has been very dry in the area so it’s understandable. Greens were in good shape though, rolling on the quicker side but rolling true. Overall a good experience...
Good Value
Oak Harbor club is not a demanding course at all, making it a great place to “work on a few things.” I guess I’d better head back because I still need to work on a few things. Generally flat and straight, the back nine gets more interesting with the proximity of the river. I’ll play there again.
Ego Stroke
One of the nicest local courses I’ve played on.
Greens were in excellent shape and were super receptive.
I’m trash at the actual sport of golf, but this course made me feel ok about that.
