Traveling to Toledo for a Saturday wedding, caused me to find this course which was exactly 1/2 way to the final destination. Clubhouse and pro shop was nice, good stuff. At first I was concerned because of 3 4-somes stacked up on #1, which made our T-time worthless. We tee'd off about an hour late, but the good beer selection made up for that. once we tee'd off pace was moving just fine. Front 9 is easy, straight, good conditions, mostly flat greens - Smooth true rolling greens, very score-able. The back 9 was very different than front. Tighter, water, doglegs, undulating greens. All in all a fun confidence course with nice greens. Perfect Pre-Wedding round. Bald Eagle nest on the back nine was cool too, no Eagle sighting though.
Solid value course, but don't play if you have obligations later.
I have played this course a few times before, and every time its the same story. I get there hit a small bucket on the range across the street, hit a few putts (the greens are surprising quick), and then get up to the starter, "we are running about 1/2 to 3/4 hours behind." Had a tee time for 11:00 and didn't tee off til 11:40. But once on the course, the pace really wasn't that bad.
The course itself has some great holes, some risk/reward type holes, and the greens on the back nine require you to be below the hole at all times. Overall solid layout, but getting off the first tee is the hard part.
