Nice layout with great greens!
Great variety of holes featuring many nice design elements. Greens were smooth and very "puttable," nice condition with good speed. Owner and staff very nice, knowledgeable and accommodating. Good carts and practice area. Good food and they even have a "stay and play" option with a guest house right on the course. Just outside of Ithaca, NY in the beautiful finger lakes region. Challenging yet enjoyable golf course - looking forward to playing it again!
A Casual Round
If you're looking for a PGA level challenge, Hillendale is probably not for you. Although not every hole is set up to be easy, many are. The pace of play is casual, but I have never been held up by the group ahead. On this occasion I played as a single, and 2 groups waved me through, which was nice. The front nine has several hilly holes (hence the name) which might make it difficult to walk; the back nine is mostly level. Course conditions are mostly pretty good. The gravel cart paths, where they exist, need some work. The practice facilites are very good. The clubhouse staff are very friendly, and everybody -- golfers and staff alike seems to have a good time.
Slow staff & poor quality rentals
This is our attempt at giving course a second chance. This outing started negatively as GolfNow web was down & we lost the Hot Deal. Club house/restaurant understaffed and slow. Rental clubs had dried mud & dirty again
Great greens, tight for me!
Out of bounds comes into play for the spray shooter. Many par 4s you dont have to use your driver,( But you hit it anyways). The fairways were EXCELLENT as were the greens and the rough is thick so use an extra club. Good food, great people but you might need some bug spray!
