A fantastic hidden gem
I believe this is one of the most difficult public courses under 7000yds in Ohio. The rolling hills, dense woods, violent dog legs and elevation changes make this a challenging and exciting course!
Amazing
It was an absolutely beautiful course, and perfect for all level of players, the beginner can really learn here and the pro can be challenged I will definitely be back
Worth the price!
Had my family in town at a nearby resort and wanted to good somewhere while in Sandusky. This place came up and gave it a go and glad I did. The staff was very welcoming and their charity hole on Hole #12 is a great cause with a cold beverage on the house at the end of the round. The layout was beautiful and the greens had a great challenge to them. I’m definitely glad I found this course. Will come back again!
Great course!
Honest this course is one of the best in the area. Even on a rainy day there weren’t many issues. Great layout. Tricky design that makes you think instead of just always smacking driver on par 4s and 5s. Only complaint was there was 0 pace of play enforcement. Would be nice to have a ranger that forced super slow foursomes to speed it up just a little. Not all of us want to spend 6 hours on the course lol
Wonderful Course
My wife and I are on vacation on Catawba, and we were looking for a course to play and Woussickett showed up. Staff were so friendly when we showed up. Not to mention they have a charity hole for their youth golfers which is absolutely amazing. The tees were superb, fairways and greens were just as great. My wife enjoyed the course so much that she actually finished all 18 holes. We will definitely be coming back.
Our favorite course in Sandusky
We have been playing this course for years and have always been pretty happy with the conditions and service. We are there 1-2 times a week sometimes. Last time we played the pace was awful, took us 5 hours to play but since it was Father’s Day I think they over booked. Need a marshal/starter to make sure we don’t have to wait 15 minutes at each hole, Instead of chastising a group for having an extra cart to help the pace of play. FYI we spent $450-$500 on merchandise, lunch and tee times. All the other golf courses we have played across the country have required 1 person per cart with covid-19.
Love it!
Course was in great shape! Staff very friendly. Will play every time we go to Toledo!
Course was in great shape.
For late August, the course was in great shape. It helps to have a big creek run right through the middle of the course. Pace of play was outstanding. I played 18 holes in 3 hours mid day on a Thursday. Some tricky greens that one wouldn’t know about until it’s too late playing the first time. #18 is unique. A split fairway that would be narrow if it wasn’t split with a tumorous hill covering half the landing area. Will play again.
Interesting golf -good practice facilities
This is an interesting course with excellent greens. Some holes are a bit straight and featureless - not something you would complain about on the par 4 18th - look at this hole from the clubhouse before you play the course for the first time! Practice facilities were excellent - grass driving range, chipping and putting greens. Good, simple food available in the clubhouse - friendly staff throughout. Our front nine was slow, but I suspect this is not usual.
Borderline Championship Course
If the cart paths were all paved, the sand were a lighter, they put in a 4th set of tees and cut he hill in half on the 18th to widen the fairway to legitimize the hole, this course would be a championship course. Gorgeous layout , big speedy greens and well kept fairways.
Great value. Skip Thunderbird and Sawmill creek, play at your own pace and save $50 on 18 here.
