dont miss this one
Awsome. I will play often. Very scenic and in wonderful condition. Week days offer fast pace of play.
Tough
Tough course. Pace wasn't too bad. Don't miss the fairways are greens.
Solid course.
Paired up with some excellent golfers, but still had a great time. The course was in good shape, and is pretty forgiving to a spray driver like me. Sand traps were in better shape than most courses I have played this summer, and the greens played pretty fast and fair.
Enjoyable course
This is a good course to play. A couple of difficult holes but not overly taxing.
On most holes there is no significant difference between the white and blue tees.
The major problem yesterday was that there was a foursome playing very slow. By the time we got to the fifth hole there were two groups waiting on the tee, and the group playing slow would not let anyone play through. This will happen on a golf course. The problem is that there was no staff on the course overseeing things and the course was pretty busy. I skipped the fifth hole as there were two holes empty in front of the slower foursome.
Other than that it was an enjoyable round
Pretty Cools For Way Out In The Stix
Unless you live in Wadsworth or Akron area, you're in for a bit of a drive to this course. Again, local knowledge is important. But the GREENS....the Greens are fast, true and crowned. There are no gimmes. And it took most of the round to start to get used to them. Other than that, it's a classic old-school beauty that is certainly worth $10 to play!! And I guess I'd even pay a little more for the privacy and charm.
Challenging Golf Course
Challenging golf course not far from Wadsworth. Plenty of bunkers with white sand protect fast, crowned greens. Course does not have a lot of water that comes into play.
Hidden gem! Amazing condition and challenging!
Excellent course! The plush conditions and challenging elevation make this one of the best in the area! It's a hidden gem! The prices are very fair and the food and drink prices are very favorable as well! This is worth the trip!
Hidden Gem
Rawiga is an outstanding course that appears to get little play probablyy due to its location. The overall shape of the course was great, fairways-greens-roughs. With mature tree lined fairways, hilly layout and challenging greens this course truly is a hidden gem.
Limited tables and chairs outside the clubhouse to enjoy a post round cigar. Extra room in picnic table lined pavilion and large deck at fron of cluhouse.
Rawiga is back
Played Rawiga for the first time in three years (the first year it went public it was garbage) and I must say it is close to being back at the top of courses in Northeast Ohio. The pro shop is all new and very nice now as well as the bar! Still wish they would move the first tee box back to on top of the hill but course is still beautiful!
Very Nice
A great course. Beautiful greens some of the nicest I have ever played in NE. Ohio. Very nice fairways and tee boxes. There are some very nice holes and the course is an old school course. Tight fairways on most holes and well matured trees. A great course. This is the first time I have ever played here and will be back for sure. Worth my hour drive here.
tough, crowned greens to land, chip, putt
A good layout. No bizarre carries or creek placements. Very playable, but probably better the 2nd time around, once you get a feel for the greens - crowned & fast.
Beautiful and Challenging
Course is in great shape, and a lot of fun to play. One of the most challenging courses in the area, with it playing a little long, having a lot of hills, and tough greens. Greens and fairways are in excellent shape. A lot of fun, but I wouldn't recommend bringing a beginner or walking because it could be a long day.
Awesome
Scored a deal on golf now my buddy and I played at 12:03 for $10 dollars a person for 18/cart. Even if it was $30 a person it still would have been a great deal. The fairways were in great shape considering the problems they had last summer. Greens were rolling very fast considering the rain we have had. We got done in 3.5hrs with people in front of us. Great course..great time
Great value
With most greens elevated and crowned its difficult too hold the ball and they really have excellent green conditions. . Trees are mature and rough is playable but challenging .
May 29th
Good course. Spring rains had prevented mowing of some of the rough and spent time looking for balls. Accuracy was key.
Nice track
For 37 bucks it was a great deal but around the greens better have your short game in order as they threw our group into fits lol, we had a 15 hdc shoot 107 and an 8 shoot 100, our low net was 74
Seems like new management is bringing this course back.
This course this year was a pleasant surprise, as it has been struggling a bit since it went public. The course was in surprisingly good shape for this time of year, and there was a great deal of activity around the course by the grounds crew. It is obvious that they are putting some money into bringing the course back into very good condition. I would expect the golf course to really come in nice this spring, as the areation of the greens and fairways should help restore this track to good condition. The staff pro in the clubhouse was attentive and friendly. The groundscrew was respectful and pleasant. I enjoyed this golf course and would recommend it to anyone. A good value and a very nice layout.
Price under $25 - good course
If you are looking for a good course in the under $25 range, Rawiga is a good place to play. However, this is not a $40 course. I play it often to work on the rough edges of my game but only when I get a great deal. This would be a good place for kids and first timers to learn to play.
Great challenging course
One of our favorite courses. Many challenging holes and the greens are tough to hit. All are "dome" shape and all approach shots give the appearance of very small targets, but when you get it the green they are fairly large. The greens are also fast and expertly maintained. Rawiga is in the country and no houses on the course. No road noise either so a very relaxing round!
Course OK; Staff NOT OK
GolfNow was not notified that the first 9 were being aerated. So we did the 2nd 9 twice. The bad part was the manager on-duty. On our way in he was waching TV and could hardly get out of his chair. We (stupidly) forgot our putter and asked if we could rent one. He only sold new ones he told us. After a little silence and remarks from my side that it's quite strange that a professional course has no rental clubs, another guy pointed out that there was a lost and found one, which we used. The manager continued his grumpyness, he was able to walk 3 feet from us without any word, smile or welcoming sound whatsoever. We didn't feel welcome at all.
Course was OK, greens difficult to read, fairways hard and therefore fast.
