Beckett Ridge Golf Club

About
Beckett Ridge Golf Club was designed by Jack Kidwell, a well known name in Ohio golf. The course has a classic design that is inlaid with meandering streams that weave through stands of mature trees. The rolling landscape was deftly incorporated into the golf course. The layout offers a variety of holes ranging from long to short, tight to open. It is definitely a course that requires some strategy. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. It measures 541 yards, but this downhill hole plays much shorter. There are out-of-bounds on either side and the tricky fairway slopes right to left but with some strategy and a little skill it is possible to make it home in two. Beckett Ridge is one of Southwest Ohio's best golf courses.

10th Hole at Beckett Ridge Photo submitted by Wahwah87 on 04/10/2013
Great course, great weather, pace of play?
I have played out here several times. In the spring when they didn't cut the grass, it was impossible to find balls that rolled a foot off the fairway and a ranger was riding us about slow play. (BTW I am an 8 handicapper that plays fast with other fast golfers). Yesterday they let a foursome of golfers slow up the whole course. Should have had a ranger out there yesterday.
Good Bang for the Buck
I'd play here again, pace of play was pretty smooth given that it was Labor Day. It was an easy process to get the cart and get going. The greens were a little bumpy on the front 9, bunkers were in good shape, and tee boxes for the most part were in good shape too. I only one remember one fairway that noticeably patchy. All in all, a nice day out on the course!
Shocking Experience
Had an 8:50 tee time Sunday morning. I was a single paired up with a group of three. After checking in I walked over to the tee box. At 8:49 a group of four shows up and says they're 8:50.
The starter says he was instructed by Zachary, course manager, to give the tee box to the "four" sum.
I walk back to the club house assuming there was a mistake. Zackary tells me they booked for three but showed up with four so he give them the box. He said "I should be able to squeeze you in at 9:40"
I state how ridiculous that is and he proceeds to tell me, "That's business. I've been doing this for 40 years, larger group always get priority. If you don't like it leave."
Left and wont be back.
The gentleman and lady working in the restaurant were very kind.
5 star all around
Just finished playing this gem. Located on a ridge in Cincinnati this is one of the tougher courses I’ve played in the area. I was told the course record was 65. I didn’t even sniff that. Shot a solid 82. What a track. After I finished 18, I asked the guy working the pro shop if I could pay and play another 9, he told me to get back out there and have the cart back before dark. Ended up playing 5 holes on the back 9 that gave me trouble on the first go round. Greens were fast and fairways were clean. 10/10 course would recommend to anyone in the area.
Good, not great. Price not justified...yet.
Course conditions are improving. Fairways and greens are pretty good. Rough around greens is really poor though. Missing a green by a few feet could lead you to a hard pan lie. Bunkers are getting better but still not consistent.
Recent price increase (assuming due to the new clubhouse) is not in line with the quality of the course. Understand you went from a trailer to a clubhouse but that is a standard amenity of a golf course that now you are having to overcharge your customers to have. Probably should have stuck to the trailer and put that money into the course. Then the higher price would be justifiable.
Lastly the guy in the pro shop charged me more than GolfNow said I had left to pay. Seemed shady...
Way too much money
It’s totally ridiculous to charge this much to golf at a mediocre course. Tee boxes were horrible shape pace of play was also bad. There are city courses in Hamilton that charge half of the price and way better playing shape.
Nice golf course, but many bad manners' golfer
There were many rude and bad manners' golfers on the course. One of the golf etiquettes is considering other player, but there are many selfish 4 some who never ever yield other fast golf players. They tooks tons of time with slow play. Even the ranger did not consider the pace of playing time. It was miserable experience.
Getting better and better
Course is in great shape. Pace of play was perfect.
Clubhouse is finally open!
Terrible tee-boxes
Rest of course was fine..not great. Tee boxes were in terrible shape. It was awful.
My experience
Will play there again but I do hope that golfers can start paying inside and not at a camper.
