Average course in every sense.
This course is not very well maintained. The greens are nice but that's about it. Fairways have weeds growing and the first cut is super thick. The guy working the front desk wouldn't let us start early even though there was no one teeing off within an hour before or after our scheduled tee time. He said because I booked on golf now I had to tee off at my scheduled time. I got there at 2:55 for a 3:15 tee. There were maybe 8 people total on the course and he wouldn't give me cart keys until my tee time. He was rude and disrespectful because I used this site to book my tee. Very unprofessional.
Poorly Run Course
Fairways are very rough and bumpy. It's like hitting off of hard red clay dirt with no nice lies in the fairways.Golf carts are HORRIBLE. Saw several people complaining about them not starting. Check in staff if very unfriendly. Do not play if you want any type of respect. Booked tee time online and they argued with me on the time I booked. Had the print out with the time and date, but blamed it on Golf Now for the error. That is twice I booked on Golf Now at Choctaw and they blamed it on Golf Now. This is the only course that I've ever had this problem with. Would not play this unless you want a CHEAP round of golf. You get what you pay for!
Greens are in beautiful shape and roll true.
Choctaw Creek is not an overly demanding course and some of the holes seem very close to others. The tee box ground was as hard as a rock on some holes. The main positive is the bend grass greens. They are the best I have played on in a long time! They roll true. If you miss a putt here, it is your fault. Nice overall experience and I will definitely play here again.
Good Course
i have played this course several times and have been challenged each time. i did notice that the rough was very thick around the greens and on the edges of some of the fairways. i hope it was due to the unusually heavy rains recently. i do not think it always needs to be so tall & thick that it is difficult to find your ball at times.
Great
The course is great right now. Absent of weeds. Bermuda is plush. Greens are rolling true. But really crowded with golfers roaming from hole to hole cutting in front.
Godd course for price
Nice course with combination of easy and difficult holes. Greens in great shape, little slow.
Great time and great greens!!
Good course set up. Not too difficult but there are a couple of blind tee shots and a couple of holes where overhanging trees are a bit of a challenge. There are several spots on fairways that are just dirt or sand and need grass but overall not too bad. Greens are excellent but for some reason players at CC, possibly members, don't seem to care about repairing their divots on the greens. It was disappointing to see dozens of new and old divots that were left without repair. Overall an awesome time and value for your money!!
Good Starter Course
The course was relatively empty, and it took less than three hours to complete the round. I had a cart and I was not rushing, although a guy behind me was playing even faster than I was. The course was very open, and it was in great shape. Though the greens were slower than I'm use to, they were absolutely immaculate. I say that this is a great starter course because the greens were relatively flat and the course relatively open (not many hazards). If one is a beginning golfer, this course is ideal. I don't believe that it gets a lot of play during the week, because there are other courses (John Conrad & Tinker) that are less out of the way. If you want a place where you can hone your skills, this is the place. The driving range was in good shape (I didn't use it), but it ran parallel to one of the holes. Problems could arise as people on the range are hitting into the people coming up the fairway on the parallel hole (I didn't like that, but I hit a nice draw on that hole). One doesn't have any room to go right off the tee. The course tended to favor a draw player.
Great value, but course needs attention.
The fairways were not in good shape and the course seems to have drainage issues. We got the round for a great price, otherwise it really wouldn't be worth the value.
Possibly the worst course in the state
First and last trip to Choctaw Creek. Thought i was getting a good deal for $15 but i was wrong. After every hole on the front nine, we had to wait on at least two groups to tee off on the next hole. Many of the holes ran parallel to each other so I actually started getting used to stray balls raining down near me. The woman working the grill was possibly the rudest person ive ever met in my entire life. She felt the need to openly express how upset she was with me for ordering food at three in the afternoon. If i had known it would be so bad and overpriced, i wouldve just ordered a gatorade. On the back nine, there were holes where the cart path ran out. Really? Also, dont hit the ball in the middle of the fairway off the tee. If you do, you will be shooting out of dirt and/or mud. Everytime there was a gust of wind, it felt like i was in the dust bowl. I wouldnt go to Choctaw Creek again if i was paid to play 18. Save your time and your $. Do not go to Choctaw Creek.
.Good price for 18 holes
Greens were nice. Fairways were good. There is no second cut, it goes from fairway to dirt. It may be from the drought but there are huge ares with no grass to hit from.
Worth a play, especially on a discount.
I have played this course A LOT. It is a straight forward course. What you see is what you get. Long hitters have an advantage to fly the woods on several holes and both par 3s on the back are 200+ yards (if played from the blue tees). 7 of the 9 holes on the back nine are out of bounds left without much forgiveness... prone to hitting a pull or hook (or heaven forbid a pull-hook) and you will get punished. Course is such that it would be difficult to drop a low score, but keeping your ball in play would make it difficult to shoot a high score. Greens had been aerated within the last 2 weeks or so when I went, but were definitely coming back well and will be in great shape in another week or so.
For the price, It was an outstanding value.
It is early in the spring and the grass has not grown in yet. The fairways were pretty bare for now. The greens looked good from afar, but they were never mowed and extremely wet. All putts created a "roostertail" on every putt. The pace of play was very good. Overall, it was ok. except for the greens.
Pretty good food.
The greens were horrible. Staff was sanding greens while trying to play. They would pull flags, drag the green and then leave the flags laying on the ground. Fairways were decent.
This course is terrible
This golf course is one of the very worst courses I have every played. It was very difficult to find grass anywhere on the fairways and there were broken limbs from the trees every where. In addition, we had to find a way through 30 or more students scattered throughout the course, walking and slow play.
I would never play this course again .
The greens were very good.
Course has some tight fairways but is easy to play. Even from a fairway which you are not supposed to be on.
Course was great
Even though I am a moderate player, I enjoy the large greens.
Makes me feel like I am on a pro tour course.
a good course well manicured, well staffed with very friendly people.
An interesting course with a lot of undulation on the fairway and green. I would like to go back for another round soon.
good course for the price
Great value. The fairways are pretty bare now but the greens are in good shape.
