It's okay, but not as good as the other reviews
Course has no place to eat, unless you consider the hot dog roller a restaurant. Cours was in good shape, but I'm not sure I would call the fairways fairways unless you consider a parking lot with 1/16" grass a fairway. Greens were beautiful and the overall course maintenance was good. No running water in the bathroom we used on the course itself. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Pace of play was good, but for some reason they allowed a group of 9 to go off at once and this really slowed everything down.
Decent Course, firm greens, noisy carts
My first time to play this course.
We played on a Thursday morning and the weather was overcast.
The fairways were in good condition. Many tee boxes were a bit un-even. The greens were soft and firm but kept the dew until late morning because of the overcast skies. I noticed a good bit of grain in the grass on the greens which pushed a few putts that shouldn't have had any break.
I played from the back tees and did so terribly, which I cant hold against the course. Nearly all of the tree clusters have bare dirt between so its difficult to recover a misplaced drive from that. From the back tees, many of the par 3s are around 200 yds which was quite challenging. Most sand bunkers were shallow and would be easy to roll through or hit from. Water was not a major player on this course, I liked ending the course on a par 5. The sand infront of this green is shallow and could be rolled through. Wish I had known!
Great Place
Got here early after a thunderstorm, and the staff had done a great job of having the course ready, free of debri. Friendliest people I've ever cone across at a course.
Nice course
Three of us rode in carts. Due to recent rains we were required to stay on the cart path on the front side. Not a big problem. The greens were a little hairy due to rains and not being about to mow. It is not a good walking course as there are some holes that require a long walk to the next tee box. The course has improved over the last 5-10 years and grass is growing where it once wasn't. Still a tight course on the backside. Lots of trees, but not real thick. The course is a change from the OKC courses.
First time at Choctaw
The course was pretty open and had some challenging smaller greens. Staff was helpful and nice. The carts are a little beat up but they got us through 18 holes. Fairly inexpensive and fun.
Cut the greens!!!!
Course was in very good shape!! Just wished the staff would cut the greens down!! Could grab the blades of grass with your fingers!! My only complaint!!! Greens were in great shape, just hairy to the point where you have to hammer a putt to get it to go 10 feet!
Rude player assistant on course
Rude, condescending, heavyset player assistant driving around the course. Walks up to cart, with belly spilling over into personal space while he leans on the cart, to explain rules that we are complying with, then slaps the cart roof before sauntering off.
Course is in great shape
Played on a cool, windy, and rainy day. Strange weather this time of year. Better than average grass in the fairways, greens in great shape. Still a lot of dirt patches which we took relief from. Carts were marginal and had to switch one out. Friendly staff. As good as it gets for the price we paid ($13). I recommend this course!
hit and watch it roll
Pace of play was good...fairways was hard due to lack of rain....greens were in good shape and the price was right. First really hot day and could use a couple more water stations
Great creek
Very nice greens, and layout.Undulated greens, narrow fairways, very impressed with greens. Very challenging from the blue tees.
Great course
Great course I would like to see breakfast maybe, and some new golf carts but the price to play and the course is amazing.
Good Consumer Price
Considering the price, which included the cart, I believe I received more than expected. The course was in good shape, except for a few bare spots on the fairways, and the greens were moderate in terms of speed, slope, texture and roll. The back nine had some nice challenging holes and played a little more difficult.
Fun Course within 30 Minutes of OKC
The greens were in fantastic condition, and while the fairways weren't perfect, sections were roped off, so the staff is working on it. Pace of play was good.
Good Value, Worth Your Time
This is a great course to check out.
About the most uphill and downhill you'll get in Oklahoma. All the greens are in the shape of a specific US State which is fun. Very nice pro shop staff. Never real crowded. Fairways aren't perfect but tees and greens are very playable. Always enjoy playing here.
Needs some TLC
Early in the season, so I'll be kind. Conditions were not the greatest, (lots of bare spots, greens were LONG...) but I did see the maintenance crew out and working on things.
Basically a fairly bland course, where the wind and small greens are the main defense. The creek does run through several holes, but very rarely is a dangerous hazard. Would like to come back later in the season once the trees are filled out, and Mother Nature has been a little more kind.
Good course for hot deal price
The greens were in the best shape I've seen them at this course in a long time.
Only candy for snacks, Not that I eat on the course but it's nice to have a burger and beer at the 19th hole.
They have some of the best greens around.
This course needs a mechanic for the carts or just new carts.
Fun Course
Choctaw Creek is a good value. Reasonable prices, friendly and helpful staff and the course is a good mix of challenging and average difficulty holes.
good value
The greens are typically better than the average course. The fairways and tee boxes are what I would consider to be below average.
first time
first time at course. Wasnt bad. Greens were in great shape. Finding some of the holes were a little difficult. Over all had a great day of golf.
