Course not is not maintained well, especially majority of the greens are in poor condition.
First Time to play
This was my first time to play the course and I was generally pleased. The layout was challenging, yet forgiving. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
The only knock was that the greens need to be mowed and the holes need to be moved - just a bit fuzzy in both cases.
I’ll go try it again soon.
Great Value and go to daily course
To me this is one of the best values of play in OKC. You can find good deals on golf now and very close to where I live. They have been trying to make improvements for a while and slowly but surely it is getting there. Is it the best most prestigious course you are going to play? I hope not. But dollar for dollar, staff friendliness, and just a good overall round with some challenges for most avg golfer, mostly good pace of play and forgiveness to the novice or avid golfer, this is one of my go to spots
Lost the greens
Surrey Hill is easy to get on and when you get to the first green you will know why. Absolutely terrible. I’m sure the team there is trying to improve th3 course but am curious of when can it be expected. I can refer a friend with the caution of expectations that putting will be difficult to no fun.
DO NOT GOT HERE!!!!!!!
Let's start off by saying this is the worst maintained golf course I've ever seen in my life! Years ago it was immaculate and it sucks to see it this way. New management has taken over and she has no idea about how to run a golf course! The grill used to be awesome they brought in a chef and he changed the whole menu and the food was great! He was very personalble and always made sure we enjoyed our food! We miss you Chef Jordan but unfortunately they let him go!!! If you would have kept that chef you might have a better turn out! I will tell all my friends and family to spend money elsewhere.
Greens are rough
Most of the greens are not in good condition….most will bare or burned out areas covering 50-75% of the green.
Conditions
The golf course was not in greatest conditions. Front nine shut down and new front nine was to be played and it in my opinion was not ready for play. Fairways were not mowed and hard to find your ball. I know we have had a lot of rain but they at least should have been working on having the course ready if in deed open.
Don't Do It!
It's sad, really. The track could be very nice. But, for many reasons, this is the worst round of golf I've ever played.
It starts with the pro shop. I'd booked a tee time for three of us. One of us got sick, so there were only two of us. I asked the kid at the counter for a second cart. He declines, but with a smug attitude. Despite us paying for three spots, we were denied a 2nd cart because I politely mentioned that our third would not be there, so they could fill in a 2sum if they had one.
As if that wasn't enough. We head out to the first hole. I kid you not, there is no fairway. They have let the entire course be taken over by weeds and nut grass. The greens are just as bad. Dirt patches, nut grass, pits. The entire course is a disaster.
We then get to the 4th hole, where the Marshall stops to talk with us. He asked if we were the ones who had a problem at the front desk. Not to apologize, by any means. He wants to reinforce that they have policies and blah blah blah. I finally had to ask the guy to move on, because he was making an already frustrating round of golf worse.
I hate to complain, but honestly, this course is a complete rip off. We paid $36 a person, with a discount. This course is not worth playing for $10. I would suggest going to any other course but this one. I've been golfing here for almost 4 years, off and on, and it continues to go downhill in every aspect.
Don’t play here
Course layout is promising. Poorly maintained. For the price, go to an OKC course or anywhere else really. Course does have potential if maintained.
The course is in better shape than a year ago. The greens are improving and hope that the current level of course management and maintenance continues to improve.
Tourist Trap!
18 out of 27 holes were closed so we had to play the “new” 9 twice. These 9 holes were the worst layout I’ve ever played. Every hole had either a house or backyard jutting out or a hazard in the worst possible location. Joke of a course
