Greens conditions
The greens were rough! Pace of play was glacial on a very hot day!
Surrey Hills
Last year, Surrey Hills was below average in course condition. This year, however, the course was in much better shape. I commend for a job well done. Note: i did not play the new nine, which I understand needs work..
Overall a good course. Staff is very nice, bar staff are excellent, cart girls were so nice and constantly checking in. Course is ok for the price but wish it was slightly cheaper. Greens are ok could be better. Worst part of this course is the pace of play. No range master checking in or managing slow play. Very busy course. It’s a golf community so random people not playing will drive their personal golf carts through the course which causes delays in play as well.
Overall a nice place to play.
disappointed again
Fairways were not in good shape, greens were not in good shape. I play here two or three times a year, and the course is never maintained.
Really bad greens
The greens were like carpet and the general manager yelled at us for a misunderstanding about a temporary par 3. They dont know how to measure distance because the sign said 150 yards out and the tees where set up 60-80 yards away. Don’t waste your money.
This course should be closed.
This course is always under repair. It has potential to be great but it’s like no one is taking care of it. It should be closed during the repairs cause it’s not worth playing in the condition it’s in.
Horrible sharp
Course look like it has been mowed in weeks and they have lost there greens. Plugs of grass growing all over them. I played this course 6 months ago and I
It was in ok shape, but now! Never will be back! Waste of my money!
It's coming back
Surrey has a great little layout and 27 holes so you can almost always get on. They hired a new greenskeeper and it really looks like they are trying to get the course back into shape. A few bare spots but it is still early in the season. Overall I would recommend this course.
First time at Surrey
I decided it would be cool to have my friends come play a round of golf Saturday morning. We got out there and quickly realized the course was very poorly maintained and every one of the greens had weeds growing in them, huge divots that were not caused by golf balls in a few holes, and the fairways all were almost dirt.
I was kind of embarassed to bring my friends there after the first hole and then it progressively got worse over the course of the game. I am not a professional golfer by any means however when I hit a straight line at the cup and it bounces out of line from the overgrown weeds, it makes me not want to play there again. Definitely not worth the money to play there again.
Winter Play
The course needs a lot or repairs to make it an above average course. The tee boxes are uneven. The fairways have numerous patches of dirt. The greens are the best part of the course but some are showing wear. The carts are below average, and some have broken down during play. The bottom line is this course needs new ownership and a lot of money for repairs.
My last round here
I live in the neighborhood surrounding the course and I will legitimately never play this course again. I’ve played a handful of times and had the worst experience every time, don’t even know why I ever came back after the first time. I heard someone call it “goat pasture” golf and I think that’s even being generous. You can’t hardly tee up on any box without a hammer. The fairways are abysmal and I’m surprised every time I step on to the green; I’ve never seen a golf course like it. I don’t know if the ownership just flat out gave up or what but there isn’t a worse golf course I’ve ever seen. The fact that they make people pay $30-50 to play here is insanity. It’s not worth $10. I wouldn’t accept a free membership for life at this course. Just save your money and time.
Yes, Much better now! The other nine - looks like they are starting to work on those for the late fall season. We live in the neighborhood and take a drive through the course in our cart every few evenings or so. There is steady work happening on those 9 holes for sure.
