Cherry Creek Golf - The Links Course

Course is always in good shape, but now is in great shape thanks to mother nature and her rain. Course workers do their best to make it a pleasant experience, and the rounds are usually under 4 1/2 hours and closer to 4. If you play when it's cartpath only, it's better to walk than ride- you're going to end up walking less. Greens could be quicker, but they are in great shape for the amount of play here. This is a long course, so don't get hung up on the tee box color you should play. Holes 3-5 will test your game, especially into a prevailing north wind.

I play this course regularly. The staff is excellent. The course has some cool holes. You must hit fairways as there are unforgiving trees surrounding most fairways. The safe areas are fairly wide.

Overall it is a very enjoyable course.

I play with a group who can't agree on which tees to play. The problem is the unusually large distance between the white and blue tees. The white tees always seem to be placed at the very front of the very large tee areas making some holes very short. The blue tees, in my opinion, make this course too difficult for me (about a 14 handicapper). There are no "just right" tees.

The fairways, roughs and greens are always in very good shape. The sand traps, however, are inconsistent and mostly lack sand.

A great feature about this place is the practice area. Very large putting area along with a large chipping area. In addition there is a "grass" driving range that's pretty beat up but you can definitely find clumps of green stuff to hit from. The range is full size so you can hit drivers.

Course in great condition. Grass driving range in great shape with good range balls ( unlike other courses on island)

Can really score on the back none. The greens are the slowest you will ever play. Speed of greens needs to be improved.

Granted this was cart path only however… by hole 11 I was at 4 hours… 4 HOURS… we called the pro shop to see if we could get a rain check and they just flat out said no. Then the ranger comes out and goes yeah you’re on pace for a 7 hour round… sorry… and drives off. Completely unacceptable.

Golf now did not alert us that the green is aerated.

Fairways not cut, greens too slow and full of both old and new ball marks, almost all cup edges were uneven. I marked that I would recommend the course, but mostly because it is a good value, particularly if you can get a discounted fee.
