What Happened?
All I can say is...What Happened to The Woods? We use to Love this course. Always a great layout , tough conditions and in solid shape. NOT ANYMORE! Greens were in decent shape but the rest of the course was terrible. Nothing cut, difficult to find a ball even a foot off the fairway, and good luck getting a club on the ball in the overgrown wet jungle!.Hopefully they get the course back , but in the meantime save your money, it was junk!
Most of the course was in good conditions (they were reseeding a few fairways and spreading shirt), staff was friendly and good place of play
Fun round at The Woods.
Staff friendly and helpful. Starter chauffeured me to pro shop and then right out on course. Tees, fairways and greens all in very good condition. Greens challenging. Rough is tough as it is very thick and fairways fairly narrow. All in all an enjoyable round at a reasonable price
The woods at cherry creek
First time playing was well worth the drive about 30 miles. Kinda narrow off the tee for a lot of the holes. If you can score well here you can be better anywhere else. Also if there’s wind it definitely picks up later in the day
Tight fairways
The woods is one of our favorites for its tight fairways and level of difficulty. They have excellent golf carts, good food in the clubhouse and we like the pace of play usually.
Cherry Creek Woods
Its very early in season so cant be too critical of course conditions. Good layout with some very nice holes. I prefer the Links across street as almost everyone does. Its a very tight tee shot course. So unless one has a strong tee game expect to be hitting from woods alot of holes. Greens rolled nice but a little slow. But again, its early in season. Staff was friendly.
Every Hole had Maintenance Crew aerating, raking, blowing you couldnt play
Wasnt advised by anyone that Cherry Creek would be going through major course aeration, resanding bunkers, raking leaves or the aeration pieces, blowing leaves, etc but practically every hole was filled with moving vehicles, loud engine noises, etc. not one time did the maintenance crew pause, turn off their machine and get out of the way. They acted like we werent there. Funny thing was all the NYS courses that we usually play ($22 as we’re seniors) we couldnt because they ( Indian Island, Timber Point, etc) announced they were closed for maintenance. Cherry creek/GolfNow opted not to tell us, charged the usual fee ($53) and their maintenance guys weren’t trained at how to act when golfers are close, not that it would have mattered as the fairways were unplayable… STAY AWAY
