Greens were patchy and hole to hole play did not flow at all. First 9 we’re okay the back 9 were an after thought when designing the course. Tee boxes were slanted and most of the fairways were side slopes the whole way.
Front nine is great. Back nine - Challenging with a pushcart. Rent a car if you don't like hills. Course was in good shape after the west coast drought. Looking forward to playing here again!
Course was really nice and challenging.. Booked through Golf Now and had no problem getting a cart at the counter.. The guy was really nice and helpfully.. will be playing at that course again if I get a chance..
Fun course, great location
I like this course for it beautiful setting and interesting play., Staff were kind and helpful. Its September with a very unusually dry/hot summer that is making it challenging for all courses in the area so the fairways were mostly dry grass but all kept in playable condition. The tees/greens were in good shape although the greens were slow to putt. But I would play again as it is a fun course with many unique holes. But I'll warn you that #10 has a reputation in difficulty above the rest.
No push over
Executive courses get a bad wrap. This is a great course w/ tons of elevation changes, and a serious walk.
The par 3's are on the long side. The course seemed to play longer than the yardage, but the dried out fairways help give you roll. Layout and variety of holes keeps you interested.
Have to mention #10...one of the hardest/short par 5's you will ever play! The staff was great!
Nice place to play
The weather is generally very nice in the summer. Some of the fairways can be difficult and it is a short course. Good place to play occasionally.
Nice Staff, ok course
It is a very reasonable price to play 9-18 holes. Course is in reasonable shape but greens are rough/slow. A lot of target golf vs let it rip if you are good with that. Pace of play is generally ok to not so much due to # of inexperienced golfers coming for a shorter/less expensive course. Last time or two very slow, hard to get any rhythm andxwatching other groups tee off
Caught in the Middle
So, I booked and paid for the round through a Golfnow hot deal. Walking rate. Thought we would rent a cart when we got there. NEVER been denied a cart when booking walking rate. Was told by the person at the counter becouse we booked through golf now they couldn't rent us one and they had been fighting with golf now to put that notification up. She said it went up right after we booked. Gave us the runaround. As customers, we felt like we were being punished for their squabbling with golf now. By the way, they had plenty of carts, no matter what she said. Check the pic. Becouse this course is very hilly and our age we couldn't finish the round. Had to quit after 2 holes. Will never play there again.
No Power Carts
I will never use you again. How can a RESORT golf course not have enough golf carts for their am golfers. You suck for taking my $5. I did not get to golf at all.
poor customer service
I booked with GolfNow. GolfNow has recently changed their policy. They no longer have carts included in their rate & I was refused a cart by the staff in the club house.
Booked the discount time using golf now. When we arrived at the course we were told that we were not able to rent carts because we booked a walk rate... We told them we understood and wanted to pay for carts but they refused and told us that they were not available, even though there were 15 carts in front of the pro shop.
So if you want to walk and don't mind people with carts hitting into your group, go for it.
Worst experience at a golf club ever
Showed up and signed in at the pro shop.
Was told there were no golf carts available to rent while there were at least a dozen in their cart shed.
After 9 holes I checked back in to try to rent a cart and was told that there still isn’t any carts available while there was still a dozen carts in the cart shed while the counter attendant didn’t even look up at me.
The worst treatment I have ever received at any golf course in my lifetime.
I was told by a local golfer that Chinook winds golf course doesn’t like the fact that golfers book up on line as it’s cheaper than their regular rate.
