Best course in the area, excellent greens
Outside of Bandon, there are not many choices for golf along the coast of Oregon. Salishan is one of the few options for top notch golf in the central coast region. Course is very tough, requiring you to hit the ball both straight and far. The distance is deceiving as 380 yard par 4's into the wind can require 2 solid wood shots to get home. Three of the par 3's are also very long. Some nice scenic holes along the bay and glimpses of the ocean. Played it twice this week. While it was sloppy wet the first time (it rained a lot the night before), by the day after the course had dried out considerably. While it's nothing close to Bandon, it's by far the best option in the area.
Friendly Staff & Great Course Conditions!
For late November golf on the Oregon Coast, I was extremely impressed with the condition of this course, as well as how well the course drained! I was greeting by Frank in the Pro Shop and he took great care of our group. We felt warm, welcome, and safe with the Covid pandemic. The precautions they took were first-class! After the round, the cart boys cleaned our clubs and even helped unload our bags into our trunk. This was truly an outstanding experience and we will be back again very soon! Thanks Salishan!
Traditional Parkland course
Nice course, not seaside links as expected. You can see the ocean from one hole only. Nice course, nothing exceptional, but worth a play if in area.
Poor Cart Cleanliness
The first three carts would not start and we're all filthy. The fourth cart started but had to clean and disinfect the cart from top to bottom. Imagine the county would shut them down if they new about the lack of cleaning and disinfecting of the carts between uses.
Not the course it used to be!
With new ownership of the resort, they have reprioritized the quality they deliver to their guests. Couse bunkers had weeds growing in them and were never raked since early season. Understaffing for all normal services and maintenance was very apparent. When we made the turn, we wanted to get some lunch and only then were told that nothing was available. I have no idea whether the carts are even sanitized since there was so little staffing.
Pricey but nice
Nice course with some excellent views of the ocean. Feel it is overpriced by $10 to $20 compared to other courses in area.
A Home that could use a little polish
The golf course could be great. Not sure if it was the end of the season blues. Traps needed work. Tee boxes needed mowing and raking. Greens were good. Cart paths needed repair. I would pay 65 to 75 for a round. My expectation for 110 was looking for better conditions. Staff was excellent.
Salishan not what it used to be
I've played Salishan golf links multiple times per year but not a member. Apparently under new ownership x 1 year and it closed completely for almost two months. No maintenance done until the members themselves kicked in to hire someone to just cut the fairways. It is always a little wet but the mowing is extremely uneven and very long in the fairways, not much roll despite late summer. Greens in good shape. I used to pay $75 with cart for a round and it was much better maintained. I wouldn't pay 90-100 for it in this condition.
