Oregon City Golf Club
About
Oregon City Golf Club was originally built in 1922 as a nine-hole course. In 1960, the second nine was added bringing the total yardage to 5,940. It had no sand traps but did contain plenty of trees and rolling fairways.
Today, the course has been updated with sand traps on most holes, water on three, and the same rolling fairways and trees that have grown significantly larger. The drainage is excellent which makes it an outstanding winter course. A new clubhouse was completed in 1997 which provides all the amenities a golfer could need; including a fully stocked pro-shop, snack bar, 2,400 ft. banquet facility, putting green, and a large outside deck for your pre or post round refreshments.

Almost a hole in one! Photo submitted by burrellpalmer on 04/20/2020
Ideal course for beginner/first-timer/intermediate golfers to learn and play
It's my first time try this course after weekend bowling tournament in Salem, Oregon.
It's very simple course. no complicate or challenge courses. Like little sand traps. easy walk, mostly flat except one hole needs to go down then come back up. Overall, it's a decent and nice course. First 9 holes goes around inside, the back 9 goes outside of the course.
Parking Lot is a strange design. watch for tight spot to park.
Friendly staffs. I think for the price is a bit too high for so-so course.
I used cart due to bad left knee. Seeing a lot of golfers using Bag Buddy.
Fun track!
The course layout is very fun! Fairways and greens need a bit of work, but very worth it for the price.
Young dude at pro shop
I came in before one customer and was denied a cart but then 10 sec after, the customer after me was granted one. I don’t know if it’s because I’m brown? I felt this a couple of times already! It reminded me why I don’t play there anymore. this will be my last time doing business with them. I’ll go to Stone Creek down the street
Solid overall course, better conditions last summer.
I quite enjoyed playing this course last summer as it was one of the only public courses in the area with softer greens during the heat of summer. Unfortunately, during early season the greens were a little too soft for my liking, especially in the morning. There were some pretty bad footprints on the greens causing the ball to jump around quite a bit. Tee boxes were in solid shape, sand could be a bit softer, fairways could be mowed down a bit. This course is so pretty with a gentle challenge and is always a fun time for me.
Really enjoy playing this course
I had a great time playing this course. Aside from the fact that a few greens were still very soggy, it was a good round. The weather was great and I had a good time.
Sunday morning Gem
Went on a Sunday morning, had a great round. Felt like we had the whole place to ourselves
Peace was perfect
Never have nothing negative to say about this course. It sucks that it will be closing soon.
Keep the course
Listed for sale and is one of the oldest course in the greater Portland Area. Hopefully it continues short yet challenging g tree lined course.
The tee boxes need some rolling to flatten them out and the trees need some lower limb pruning. If you end up in the tree which is likely to happen since the rough areas are dead are rock hard you should plan on punching out. Center of fairways are green but edges are rock hard creating huge bounces and fairway roll thrus. A few little fixes would make this a more desirable course to play over the other local courses.
Old school course
It is hard to be critical about a course built over 100 years ago, because it was fine then but not now.
No golf course should stack tee times 7 min apart, brutal. The layout is so crammed in a small footprint, that 2 holes that run parallel really could be 1.
Staff was excellent and friendly, but this was not the experience anyone wants. You 100% will have someone from your group or 4some playing parallel hole out of position. Trees are huge, people are loud, and the layout is just at times too close for comfort.
