Great late afternoon round
I had the pleasure of playing Yellow / Green at Charbonneau Golf Club on Thursday, May 17 at 3:30 pm. I can’t say why, but I was almost the only one on the course. I played as a single and it took under 2 1/2 hours to play 18. Course condition was good; fairways well kept, rough long and somewhat thin, traps in need of some additional sand. The greens looked good, were hard and not too receptive, and were a little long and bumpy.
This was just what I was looking for; a chance to work on some shots without the typical distractions.
Venerable course
I've played here many times, always on a free pass from the golf show or a Hot Deal from Golf Now. It's a very pretty, well-maintained course (actually three nines) in a retirement community. For a quality golfer, it's probably too short and easy. From the white tees, the nines are 1900-2500 yards. Perfect for me, even though I always shoot way over par (62 per 18).
Nice well maintained executive corse
Par 3’s and 4’s. Not a huge challenging corse but if your looking for a day out hitting the ball this place is nice
Great course for fun afternoon
This was my first experience with this course. 3 nines which are rotated to make 18. I played the red and green courses with a friend. We walked and were joined by a business pair on an outing - great fun. The course was in good condition with the exception where the old water system had sprung a few leaks. Greens were fair size, well mowed and trimmed. Most had unrepaired ball marks. Shorter course thru a nice housing development made of short 4's and long 3's. Fairways were usually wide and well mowed and the rough trimmed short enough to locate errant balls and long enough to challenge your shot making. Enjoyed the experience and will play again often. It suits my skill set and playing level.
Scoring ain't easy.
Lot's of par 3s, but very few easy ones. Great course for all ages and skill levels (except pros). The par 4's have challenge to them as well.
Nice short courses
Long threes and short fours. Accuracy with long and short iorns is must. Greens were firm and fair. Nice day.
Nice short courss
Playec 2 of the 3 9 hole courses. Lots of long par 3s and shorter 4s. Accuracy and club selection are necessary to score well. I repaired at leasg 6 ball marks on every green.
Needed a tune up....
....and what a perfect track to get my short game in order. greens rolled true and pace of play was very good. Would recommend it for my buddies and their wives....
Fun round
This is an executive course, no par 5's. Longest home is 340 yards. The par threes are long and difficult. Most between 170-220 yards. Greens were in good shape. I played here a lot last year and found a great deal on Golf Now and played it again.
Had my best round in years.
The only drawback is a lack of a driving range. So hard to warm up.
Neat course, but maintenance lacking
Have played this course on numerous occasions. Was disappointed that they have eliminated driving range.
Very disappointed this time that course conditions were at best fair. Greens were in great shape, but fairways & rough were in very poor condition. Is pretty sad when you can loss a ball in the fairway on a well hit & placed shot.
If they get their maintenance back on track, is a good course to go out & have a nice day on the course.
Difficult Par 3
First off I was charged an extra 2.50 and I'm not sure why. Rough is long and not thick making many balls fall underneath the grass to bare dirt areas. This makes getting out of the rough difficult for inexperienced players. The rough and most fairways are narrow. Houses on every hole are very close to the rough. NOT A GOOD COURSE FOR A BEGINNER. The guy I took had a bad overall experience here. Almost every par 4 hole was reachable, but there isn't much room for misses. The members I encountered are very nice and friendly. Tee boxes were confusing with red tees the farthest back. Club house had great snacks. Overall I was satisfied, but wouldn't go here again as it's too far to travel for the limited fun I had.
Posative
Fun day for the love of my life and me.
