Apollo Elks Country Club
About
Apollo Elks Country Club, situated just northeast of Pittsburgh, is considered one of the area's must-play golf courses. It has appeal for a wide range of skill levels with a layout that is challenging enough for seasoned golfers but also not too difficult for beginners to approach. There is an interesting mix of holes ranging from reachable par 5s to short, tough par 3s and each hole has a distinct character. The greens are fast and the gently rolling terrain provides some subtle breaks that can be tricky. Bunkering is sparsely but strategically placed along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few water hazards that come into play at Apollo Elks Country Club. The round has plenty to hold your attention but don't forget to stop and admire the beautiful western Pennsylvania scenery.

Short but nice
Overall nice course greens in good shape not very long but it was fun will play it again
Fun course
Was a fun course to play. Condition of the course was very good. Will play again.
Course shape
We had a ton of rain the three days before we played and the course had some wet spots, but maintained the integrity of the course nicely. The overall course is pretty short and not overly difficult, but the rough, although not exceedingly long, was thick and several holes had tough shot placements to make it harder as well. The greens were quicker than we expected as well. Although the course is pretty decent, the rest of the facilities are not very nice. The facilities themselves are run down and the carts are not new by any means, but the carts gave us no trouble in getting around the course.
great value
Course has some long par 4's and par 3's. Some holes need to be marked better, Website and card should include distances from gold tees
good course
good course to play. the first five holes were very wet even the fairways had standing water but it did rain heavy the night before we played. has a nice layout and is very good value when booking thru golfnow. dont let the water from an unsual rain stop you from playing this course, its still very good and the greens had no issues.
Worth a drive.
Almost no one on the course on a Thursday afternoon with rain threatening. First 4 holes were very sloppy from the recent rains. After that, beautiful course. Back nine is beautifully secluded. Greens were as smooth and full as they get. Nice blend of open shots and tree lined fairways. A lot of blind greens and you can pretty much never miss long on the greens, that would be trouble.
Greens Greens and Greens
Played on a monday 4 ish overcast all day twosome 3 hour round course was very wet but playable Greens unbelievably smooth and true also had to work ball both ways at times I will be back often
Great course
Had a good time. Great shape played 2 rounds. Great value. Take some snacks with you.
This course is in excellent condition
Other than bunkers needing a little work the conditions were excellent. I would recommend this course to anyone. The greens roll very true.
Pretty decent
Course layout is very nice. A lot of very nice holes. The grass is okay. There were clumps of dead grass laying in the rough. The facility is pretty run down but pricing is more than fair. Over all pretty nice course.
Pretty nice
Pretty nice for the money . Course was well managed would gon
why so empty
OK, so this isn't Augusta National but there were only 2 other players on the course on a beautiful holiday. Greens were hard to hold but other than that the course was in good shape. Design isn't too difficult but there are a few challenging holes. Staff was great. I'll be back.
Nice round of golf
For the price, can't beat the course. Front half was a bit sloppy, but considering it has rained that last week it was to be expected. Will go back again !
Nice country course
Nice course, greens are I fantastic shape right now. Course was pretty empty because of the forecast so we played at our own pace. Friendly staff.
Still a good value
Not a bad track for the money. Play it several times per year and always find it in good to very good shape. Was a cloudy day and we had the course to ourselves. Interesting holes on back 9....
Good value
This course was a pleasant surprise. There are many what I call "country" or "mom and pop" courses in Western Pa. Most of them are average/ below average for the price. This course was one of the better ones that I have played in the area for a $20 price tag. Greens were good and fairly consistent. Fairways in good shape. Good layout and some challenging long par 4s. There are some spots of wear/tear but that's usually what you get at a country course. I would play again.
Not Terrible
Not terrible. If your close, worth 20 bucks. But I would NEVER pay more than 25 per round for this place, spring or summer!
great value
Upon pullung into the parking lot and walking into the pro shop I was prepared for the worst. The course, however, was in terrific shape. It plays longer than the yardage on the scorecard and was a very enjoyable challenge. Few players on the course allowed our group to play in right around 3 1/2 hours. Highly recommend this course for the $20 price
course was great
Very fast greens made for challenging putts. fairways were great only they could of used cut a setting lower. Was a challenge at times to find your ball.
All in all a great course and great deal
Really enjoy playing this course. Will be back
Course was in great shape, fairways were maintained, greens were excellent (enjoy playing on nicely rolled greens). Cart path bumpy but that can be overlooked when you see the conditions of the course.
