Apollo Elks Country Club
About
Apollo Elks Country Club, situated just northeast of Pittsburgh, is considered one of the area's must-play golf courses. It has appeal for a wide range of skill levels with a layout that is challenging enough for seasoned golfers but also not too difficult for beginners to approach. There is an interesting mix of holes ranging from reachable par 5s to short, tough par 3s and each hole has a distinct character. The greens are fast and the gently rolling terrain provides some subtle breaks that can be tricky. Bunkering is sparsely but strategically placed along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few water hazards that come into play at Apollo Elks Country Club. The round has plenty to hold your attention but don't forget to stop and admire the beautiful western Pennsylvania scenery.

Fun excursion
Have not played this course in 2 years and enjoyed playing it again. Greens were consistent and true. Course was not crowded so our twosome set our own pace which made for a quick round
Very Well Maintained
Considerig the recent rainy weather the course was in very nice condition. Nice layout and beauiful Western PA scenery. Definitel returning.
Apollo Elks G.C.
Enjoyable course and layout. Every hole is distinct and memorable. Greens were in nice shape. Well worth the money.
Early start time with golfnow.com reservation. Really good condtion like a country club quality
really good deal and good quality course. setup like a country club but don't expect much food service.
Greens in very nice condition
Well maintained course both greens an fairways in nice shape.
Course lacked signs for the next tee , those not knowing course will get lost .
solid track,nice people
enjoyable day on a course I had not played before, expect to play it again. good conditions overall and nice greens
Nice people and a nice place
Besides a few mushy spots and a green or two being burnt up its was a good experience. I'd play it agsin
Course Needs Attention
Please consider this review after quire a few days of rain. So it might not have been cut.
The greens were very nice. Most of them still fairly fast.
The fairways were bumpy.
The rough was awful. It was long and you lost your ball all of the time. The worst was that it was all clover. So it made it more difficult to find the ball.
One bunker had bees in it.
Needs attention
Nice for average player to beginner!
We had a great time few easy few challenging holes lots of fun
Well Maintained Course!
The Apollo Elks is a very well-maintained course and the pace of play was good. Some holes were very challenging but over all a great course for the average golfer. I think anyone would enjoy golfing at the Apollo Elks!
Not even close to "Country Club" status!
Poor course design; To many blind shots; There was so much manure on the course it might as well have been a cow pasture; This place is a drunk tank with a farm on it
Traditional layout
This course is an old layout that doesn't inspire, especially when Spring Church, a great layout, is right down the street. The Elks is an average course you would likely encounter throughout Western, PA, but there are better and more economical choices. Greens were in good condition, but quite slow. Fairways were hard, but not burned out.
Your negative review of Apollo Elks golf course is not even
close to a "real golfer"s" evaluation. First of all, you played
April 6 2013 before the grass started to grow. As for the comment "Drunk Tank with a Farm on it" was uncalled for.
Shows a lack of class on your part, which is Par for your
course.
