About
Apollo Elks Country Club, situated just northeast of Pittsburgh, is considered one of the area's must-play golf courses. It has appeal for a wide range of skill levels with a layout that is challenging enough for seasoned golfers but also not too difficult for beginners to approach. There is an interesting mix of holes ranging from reachable par 5s to short, tough par 3s and each hole has a distinct character. The greens are fast and the gently rolling terrain provides some subtle breaks that can be tricky. Bunkering is sparsely but strategically placed along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few water hazards that come into play at Apollo Elks Country Club. The round has plenty to hold your attention but don't forget to stop and admire the beautiful western Pennsylvania scenery.

Great improvement in greens, tees and fairways compared to the last few years.
Potential
If anyone ever had the finances to upgrade the overall conditions the the “elks” it could be a premier destination for that area.. Great layout…
Great shape!
Course conditions were vastly improved since I played there in 2022.
Tee boxes and greens were in excellent shape.
Good Day for Golf
First time out for the year. Very temperate, overcast day, great for playing. The course is nice and quiet, no traffic noise at all. There weren't a lot of golfers out. We teed off at 10:30 and had zero wait on any hole. Very pleasant experience.
Unbelievable condition for time of year
Tee box to fairways to green were beautiful. A little wet but with the Spring we are having it is expected.
WOW
April 4th and course was in great condition. Green were cut and rolled and fairways we're beautiful. Traps need some work but still playable in the most part.
Wet Windy Day of Golf
The course was lush. The greens were in good shape. The weather took down a sizeable amount of leaves on the back nine that the grounds crew was trying to address, which made for delays searching for balls just off the fairway. Front nine was cleared and enjoyable to play.
SURPRISE. SURPRISE. SURPRISE
BThe course is really great and very interesting. The greens are great and tricky.
