Pocono Hills Golf Course
About
Surrounded by the Pocono Mountains, the Pocono Hills Golf Course (formerly Fernwood Resort & Country Club) was carefully carved from wooded hillsides. Condos and other residences were later built near the golf course and although they are situated quite close, the round is still enjoyable. The layout is tight with narrow fairways that are lined with trees. The front nine is easier than the back where more dramatic elevation changes come into play. Many of the greens have elevations of over 50 feet, making approach shots a formidable test. There are also a number of tricky doglegs that are practically 90 degree turns. The layout rewards straight, accurate drives and the greens putt fast and true. There are a number of challenging holes, especially the 10th and 14th, but overall Pocono Hills Golf Course is approachable enough for all skill levels.

Some updates
Some of the traps need to be redefined and sand added. They were no problem for me, because I wasn't in any. Observation only
.
Nice resort course
Course was in great shape even after the previous day's rain. Found the back nine more difficult with a couple of blind shots from the tee and on approach. Only the second time I've played this course and if back in the area would play again.
Course is in Great shape
Nice lay out fairways and greens are in great condition .
Good for the price.
Pretty course and grass was in good condition for late in the season in the northeast. The course is short and fairways are narrow. Many fairways and greens are on steep inclines. If you hit the side of a fairway the wrong way your ball may be gone.
However, if you’re in the area it’s a good course to try.
On vacation from ny
I was able to to golf here twice for what I pay for one round in NYC so for the money the course is awesome. I played it first on a Sunday and the pace was a bit slow but it being a very hilly course that actually allowed me to see where I needed to hit a lot of the time. When I played it again on the following Tuesday the pace was much faster. The staff were nice and easy going and the food at the warehouse was great. Only down side I would say is that it's totally cashless so that might be a problem for some people. 10/10 would golf again!
For experienced golfers only
Course was well-maintained, but it appears as a natural area that was forced into being a golf course. Too tight and too many blind shots. If you want to challenge yourself and improve your short game or strategy, this place is ideal. But it’s definitely not for big hitters, and definitely not for beginners. Bring a healthy supplies of balls.
The course was in great condition nice layout would definitely play again
Fun!
Been to this course a lot, always a good game. deff has some tricky holes but also some easy ones.
Not as Good as 1st Time
We played this course in June 2022, course was in great shape. Just played on Augusr 27th, 2022. Course is very dry, fairways are burnt, several tee areas are in need of grass. For the cost 98.00 for two, Pocono Hills Golf Course would have been a better value 64.00 for two, and is in better shape.
Nice course
Very nice course. Somewhat short but also tight on many holes. The par 3's are fairly long. Greens and fairways are in good shape. Tee off price was awesome. Would play again
