Outstanding Course
My family comes here every year for a golf weekend. The staff and owners could not be more pleasant and welcoming.
The course is an absolute hidden gem. Carved off the side of the mountain by the owners over the course of many years, it was not designed by a professional golf architect, which means it has delightful quirks, and lots of character. No two holes are alike, and the mountain setting adds a degree of difficulty. The Course plays from 7100 yards at the tips (Black) to 6000 at the forward men's tees (White), with an intermediate tee at approximately 6600 (Blue). There's additional forward tees for seniors (Gold) and women (Red), as well as a tee for juniors/beginners (Yellow).
The conditions are usually spectauclar. This year, they left a little to be desired. The greens were in their usual great shape, firm and fast, and the rough was mostly lush and penal, but the fairways were not as good as they had been in the past. This year, for the first time, the fairways had patches of crab grass throughout. Not the end of the world. Itdidn't affect my shots too much, but it isn't ideal either.
Wonderful Course
This mountain course is a wonderful layout. I loved playing this course. It is fun and plays a bit short from the whites but there are so many twists and passages that it make it quite challenging. I really appreciate a short course that is challenging. The greens were near perfect.
The views are breathtaking
A great mountain top course. The greens are very good. You have to see this course with fall colors to believe it!
Beautiful Views, nice layout
Staff was Great, course not crowded, nice layout, short from the white tees but challenging. Beautiful views of the mountains around Windham. This is a mountain course. Very Enjoyable.
the course was challenging and well worth the trip
Having time to play each hole without pressure as many other courses have, we enjoyed this day ever so much. Several times we sited deer casually eating along side the fairways as we played on. Thinking of the coming of fall foilage we will return do to the course layout with specatular views.
Wish it was my local course!
Beautiful course that winds through hilltop woods- great views with no houses in sight. Multiple tee boxes for players of all sorts. Can play long if you choose the blue tees (>7100 yards) or crazy long from the blacks, but fairways are wide enough not to be too punitive. Greens well kept, medium speed, roll true. Nice elevation changes. First hole is the weakest in my opinion, but the course only gets better from there. I can imagine this course being brought into shape for high-level tournament play. I can't recommend it enough.
great views interesting layout
What a location for a golf course.! I did have doubts as my golf car climbed steeply up the road toward the 10th tee, which seemed like it was in the heavens. Built on a mountain I thought there would be some maybe unrealistic hill climbs or drops, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it flowed. The course has to played a few times to get familiar with it, but well worth the 2 hr drive I made to get there.
Pro shop staff also very friendly, only thing I missed was the bar being open when I finished but it was a week day and it was after 6pm. Great experience and I will return!
A fun and challenging mountain romp
The range(?), severely canted putting green and view of the 9 holer may put you off, but once you climb up in the cart a few hundred feet you are in for a treat if you like mountain golf. The tee boxes are pretty chewed up, and you are a long way from pristine country club conditions, but the greens are beautifully maintained. They ground was hard when we played so poor shots would not hold, but they were fast and would hold the line very well on putts. You need to be able to handle uphill and downhill lies, and it will help you to realize earlier in the round your ball will fly 10-15% further than you are used to at sea level. Views are great. 18 is amazing with a multi-terraced fairway (!?) that is unfair the first time you play it (but i can't wait to try it again!) - my advice is to hit a 200 yard shot straight down the hill, and hope you hit a level part of the fairway with a view of the green. If you like golf that is on flat ground with no blind shots, go somewhere else (or play the 9 holer)!
this course hilly challenging
Booked with golf now . com , got a grate price $18.00 with cart. The staff very helpful and got to start early. The view on the course was grate. Went back two weeks later and played again at the regular rate of $67.00 with cart and still worth it. Planing to go back next year for a long weekend .
Very nice mountain course
Very nice course. 18 is an awesome. Many holes with nice views. Lots of bang for buck. Couple of the par 3 greens were a little beat up but otherwise course was in good shape
Nice Mountain Course great people
For a mountain course we were pleasantly surprised. The staff are extremely nice and they really worked to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The course was quite interesting and challenging as it was actually built by the owners which made for some interesting holes, especially 18. It was in excellent condition, the greens especially and they were tricky. Overall, we had a very enjoyable time and have gone back a couple times since and had comparable experiences then as well. We would recommend it to anyone.
