RIP HAWK VALLEY…
Great place to learn
Great course to work on your game in a simple way. The price is right.
Hawk valley
Play the same holes twice, which just means more congestion and waiting for people. About half of the greens had rough patches. Nice layout for the course design, but would probably only play 9 holes given an opportunity to play again.
Nice Course
Course was in decent shape considering how much rain they had the night before. Tee was a little bare and weedy. Green were great, true putt with little bounce of ball.
Hawk valley
Great local course if you are looking to just play 9 holes or hone your game a bit.
Day after heavy rain
The course was wet from an overnight storm. The bunkers were being drained onto the playing surface, luckily I didn’t land in it. Course is only 9 holes with different tee box distances the second time through. We will go back just not after a night of rain if we can help it.
There's a reason its cheap
They don't tell you you basically play the first 9 again (#10 is the only new tee box, but you're re-playing #1). There's no refunds because I'm sure a good majority would want a refund once they realized there was no back 9. Greens, fringes and bunkers were lacking. and not maintained well. Will never play there again.
Course in poor condition, not worth the $
This used to be a nice course, have played here many times. It’s really deteriorating, big bald patches on the greens, the putting surface hadn’t been mowed in a while, was like putting on fake AstroTurf. The fairways were ok, but the rough hadn’t been mowed in a while either, you had to pretty much stand over your ball to see it. That makes play pace slow when no one can find the ball. Pace was further slowed by the group of 5 walkers . Right after I paid the attendant closed up, hopped in a cart and started driving around to open holes and playing. Ok, but a a single golfer, that’s what I had to do, so now compete for open holes with the staff. paid $23 to play 9 holes, won’t be back anytime soon
Disappointed
I'm upset that while booking this was touted as 18 holes when really it's the same 9 holes twice, gets stale the second time around.
