Reading Country Club
About
Opened in 1923, Reading Country Club is one of the area's oldest golf courses. Located less than a half hour from King of Prussia, the course is easily accessible from anywhere in the greater Berks County area. Though it has a traditional layout that doesn't have the length that most modern courses do, that hasn't stopped it from being one of the most challenging public golf courses in Berks County. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course will test you with lightning fast, undulating greens that are protected by sand traps and there is punishing rough bordering the narrow, tree-lined fairways. Be prepared for uphill shots and blind approaches throughout the golf course. Reading Country Club's par 3s are especially notable for their difficulty.

Golfer Reviews
Great Course, Friendly Staff, Pub closed on Mondays
As good as, or better than 90% of most other courses you can play within a one hour radius for the same price. The cart GPC systems help you not hit into other people when hitting blind shots (so long as they're in carts, too).
Closed pub was a bummer, but didn't;'t spoil the round,. I can accept that the course does need to give people time off, clean the taps, etc.
Reading CC is worth playing for sure
The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in terrific shape. A fun, old-school course. Had a great time. Pace of play was good too. Picturesque as well.
The only negative was there were a few holes where the green/flag is a totally blind shot. Thank goodness we were in a cart so we could drive up and pick out a tree or building behind the green for our target.
Manager was a little bit of a jerk because I showed up a minute before my time. Which I was ready to play, just a matter of putting clubs on a cart . Didn’t need to be an issue at all. There was a group on the fairway on one and nobody waiting on the tee . Said he sent the other people out already. Well if that’s true then he sent them out early. So why is that my fault. I just left even though I had pre paid because I was upset
Give this course a try
A fun, well-maintained course with challenges throughout. We had a mid-morning tee time on Sunday and the pace of play was very good. The greens were in very good shape. There was water stations throughout the course and a cart person who we saw multiple times. Hope to come back again soon
Great value
Worth the drive from Philly. Fairways are decent, the rough was high but the greens were in excellent shape. Very good value.
Terrible golf club
Would never recommend anyone there again , they kick groups off course if you accidentally hit a house while driving with no refunds and then pro shop talks to you with no respect and if you say anything back they say your arguing. Scared little white men who enjoy the power they have there.
Good condition and Country Club Service
The course was in great condition. The course design was a mix of challenging and holes that gave you peace of mind. The amenities and service by the staff was great. Would highly recommend to others. Course is a little on the short and narrow side compared to others courses in the area.
Reading CC is ready
Reading may not be long for some hitters but some challenging greens and slopes can bring folks back to reality. The course has undergone a revitalization under new ownership and if you haven't played this in the last year or two, you should give it another chance. The greens were in good shape and good speeds.
