About
Opened in 1923, Reading Country Club is one of the area's oldest golf courses. Located less than a half hour from King of Prussia, the course is easily accessible from anywhere in the greater Berks County area. Though it has a traditional layout that doesn't have the length that most modern courses do, that hasn't stopped it from being one of the most challenging public golf courses in Berks County. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course will test you with lightning fast, undulating greens that are protected by sand traps and there is punishing rough bordering the narrow, tree-lined fairways. Be prepared for uphill shots and blind approaches throughout the golf course. Reading Country Club's par 3s are especially notable for their difficulty.

Very Nice Course and Staff
No complaints. New GPS system! Bar being closed on a holiday Monday was a bummer but didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the round.
Excellent Value for the Money
Historic course with some gorgeous views, and challenging shots. The cart paths were bumpy and course signage for a first time guest were not well marked. Overall, this was an outstanding experience at public prices. You can’t beat that!
Course is in ok shape for almost closing a couple years ago
Woman friendly tees but we do deserve a legit tee box not just markers place anywhere. Golf carts are nice with GPS and lots of information. The course layout is nice but the tee boxes and fairways can use some love.
Excellent condition
Course is in excellent condition, greens are almost fully recovered from aeration. Rough is VERY rough! Accuracy is a premium here and play the fairway slopes to try to keep the ball from rolling into the rough.

Reading Country Club
Had a very enjoyable round of golf! It looks like they've been putting a lot of money back into the facilities. They have a brand new fleet of golf carts that have sophisticated GPS-technology computer tablets built in. The greens were aerated during the previous week and were healing nicely as my putts were rolling true.
The Tee Off App alerted me about the aeration AHEAD of my placing my reservation and the Hot Deal pricing reflected a substantial discount. I would definitely play here again.
It was a beautiful day …..
…and where were the golfers? It’s a bit of an old funky layout for 109 years but it works.
Wonderful Experience
I was reluctant to play this course given some of the unfavorable reviews but I'm glad I ignored them. Everything from the staff, the pro shop, the tavern, everything was pleasant. Sure some of the cart paths need to be done over and the traps need more sand. But it's April. Overall the course was a challenge, the fairways and greens were fine, and the pace of play was 4:15. Hard to beat on a public course.
