Course is in beautiful condition. Well worth the trip.
From tee through the green, this course is in better shape than ever. Great experience except for slower play coming in back 9. Seems like always a problem here. If you never played here, make the trip. Nice experience.
Favorite course
This is my all time favorite course. The fairways and greens are always in excellent condition. This was the first time that my partner played here and he is definately bringing some of his golfing buddies to play here.
Rough greens on the front, nice layout and the greens improved
Played the course and we were surprised how many ball marks had not been fixed where you end up with round brown holes on the greens. We saw the damage on the first 7 holes but as the day went on the greens got better.
The layout and vistas on this course are really nice and worth a trip back in the Fall but we hope the greens in the front are nicer in the Fall.
Nice place to play
Course was in great shape from tee to green. Will definitely play again. Will be back in the fall when the leaves change colors.
This course has some amazing views.
This course has some amazing views from the side of the mountain. It's very scary walking up to the first tee and seeing a down hill shot to water with the green tucked behind and to right. The course is in great shape. It has some difficult up hill shots and a few blind shots but overall not to challenging it was a great round of golf.
What an AWESOME course
The greens are small but the design of the water and bunkers near the greens makes it very interesting. Hit a good shot and you are rewarded. Hit a bad shot and, well just have another ball handy. The views are incredible!!!!
SPECTACULAR VIEWS ...GREAT CHANGES IN ELEVATION!!!
Great lay-out..well maintained course...can't wait for the coming of Fall to enjoy the turning of colors of the surrounding forests!!!
Observed some personnel friction between mature Pro Shop front desk person & young crew of cart handlers/starters(?)...
Great course that provides challenges for every golfer!
This course was in excellent condition and the greens were perfect. If you love golf courses that provide a beautiful natural setting then this course is for you.
AWESOME LAYOUT
it was cart path only because of all the rain but the fairways, bunkers and greens were perfect!
The course was in country club condition, even better than the country club I belong to. What a steal paying only $30 through Golf Now!
Challenging course
Course had a family event and had 6 groups playing in front of us. Waited on every hole and when asked the Marshall only comment was that there are no open holes. You do not play for 5 hours and then say you enjoyed your experience. So when you book tournaments tell the players what is expected ie., 4 hour round. So then enforce pick up the ball and go to the next hole!! Marshall only came by once as he knew that golfers following the family event would just "blast him"!!
Great fairways and challenging greens
Nice layout. Tight fairways with no overlapping holes. Greens are challenging but not overly difficult. Will hold all shots. Fairways can get swampy after rain. Changes in elevation make club selection critical.
Paid $24 for 18 with a cart. 1:30pm tee time on a Saturday, but was able to tee off at 1pm and finished right around 4:45pm.
Love the views here.
I was pleased with the course and it conditions everything was clean and fun a little wet but it did rain so other than that would go here again was here 2 times in the past but that was during fall so you had alot of leaf litter which is hard to play in.
Course in in great condition
The course is well taken care of, the bunkers were the best around. pace of play was good for a course this difficult. Greens were in excellent shape. well worth the trip and the money.
Nice spring outing
Greens were punched and crew was finishing up on some holes. Other than that - this was a nice way to spend a spring day. Well worth the money and the trip
Great views of the Allegheny Mountains and surrounding area.
Staff was excellant, great value for the money spent, course was in fantastic shape, had a wonderful time.
Amazing views and conditions
A fantastic course that is challenging even to the seasoned player. Play your shots well and you can score. If not, have a few extra balls on hand, even the low handicap guys will lose one or two during a round. The course was in pristine shape and being at the top of a mountain ridge there were a few holes where you had wind coming from two different directions. The sand was soft and well maintained too. Can't wait to go again.
Well worth the visit-Can't wait to go back!
I stopped here early on a Friday morning on my way between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and had a really enjoyable round. I selected this course because of the high slope rating and the other reviews that talked about the elevation changes. The course definitely fits the bill in these two regards, but the thing that was such a pleasant surprise was how immaculate it was. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were all in perfect condition, best I have seen anywhere this year.
A stop at Hidden Valley is definitely worth the trip!
beautiful scenic course
Hole 1 starts off and u know u are in some fun on a short 380yd island green par 4. several up and down holes with beautiful view. #2 drivable par 4 but very difficult from blue tees where the tee box literally aims u right at the lake on the right of the hol. few short par 5s but two monsterous difficult par 5. overall worth the golfnow rate of 30$ or lower by far
While I highly encourage you to play this beautiful course in the fall after the leaves have changed, I want to caution you to not play the course after the leaves begin to fall. It is virtually impossible to find a golf ball that isn't in the fairway after the leaves are on the ground at this course. Also, remember this happens a few weeks earlier in the mountains than it does in the lower elevations. I just want to make sure your second trip to this great course is as enjoyable as your first!!!
