Good rate of play, awesome staff (misplaced my wingman and they went out of their way to help find it). Course layout is SPREAD OUT, which I love. You only dodge balls from an adjacent fairway on two or three holes.
Beautiful weather for golf
The weather was perfect. This was our first time playing this course. The front 9 holes were nice, but the back 9 holes was more in the woods, which made it much more challenging to play.
It’s a $20 Coarse
I played Huntington CC for the first time and I would recommend reading this review before you go play there. First off I had an 11:30am tee time for 2 players. The lady at the pro shop was nice and explained everything you would need to know to play there. The parking lot was full there were groups infront and behind. Very packed for 11:30 on a Friday. Outside of that the coarse was extremely hit or miss. The greens were not consistent, ball marks and divots covered the greens. The group in front of us were very young and repeatedly dropped multiple balls every hole and would hit 5 feet at a time and continue to loose all the balls. With that being said, pace of play seemed to be an issue because all the groups had this mentality from what I could see. Not a singular pitch mark was fixed by the group ahead or behind. The fairways were decent, the layout was very nice. I play a variety of public/private courses all around the country and have to say this track in not worth the ordinary asking price. For $20-25 it will be a okay place to play, be prepared to have delays, stolen balls, and greens that could be used as tee box’s. I’m glad I got to play a new place, I’m sad it had to be full of poor etiquette hackers. Would probably be a solid fall track.
This course is maintained well
I’ve played this course a dozen times in the past 9 months. The groundskeepers do an amazing job of maintaining the course & the staff is always welcoming and courteous. The golf carts are clean and well maintained. The price per round of golf is very reasonable.
Don’t play here, it’s awful.
Probably the worst golf experience I’ve ever had. Save your money and go do anything else other than play at this course. Pace of play was miserable taking us just over 2.5 hours to play the front 9. After waiting 25 minutes to tee off on #10 we finally just decided to leave. We went to the “club house” and asked for a beer to try to salvage the day, but unless you are a member they won’t serve you. The staff seemed like they were annoyed to even have to see 3 people who have never been before. Course conditions were mediocre at best. I wouldn’t play here again even if it was free. Absolute waste of a golf course.
Nice course
Very wet day to play, but the course was in excellent condition. Very nice scenery, and the staff is always very kind. I would recommend playing it.
Great Course
HCC has a wonderful layout. There are very few fairways that are not separated by at least a tree line. I ALWAYS get an inexpensive cost for an AWESOME course.
Nice outing
Two negatives - bugs! not enough signs to get you to the next tee-box.
Positives - very nice staff, for a 20hcp it is moderately challenging which is good. Greens were fast and holes seemed to be in league play locations which was again challenging. Fairways were in good condition as were the greens. Bunkers were hard from the rains.
Horrible course
This course was not what we expected for a club. Greens were awful, the one cup was the size of a softball. We had a tee time that was delayed by 45 minutes. Restroom was filthy. Would not go back to this course.
