When $52 on a Weekend w/Cart Isn’t Good Value
Understand it’s been dry, but seriously. I went with low expectations and the course didn’t even meet those. Most tee boxes you had to search the box to find a spot where the tee would break the surface. Greens were anything but and you were lucky to find grass anywhere else as it’s a dirt track, mostly. Are the selling to a developer, cause that’s what those conditions scream.
I learned to play golf here with Charlie and George, so I knew or thought I knew what to expect. I played here about eight years ago, and it was nothing compared to these conditions.
Horrible
Greens felt like old carpets. Worst greens i ever played. Entire back nine smelled like pee. Will never play there again
The tee boxes were all dirt, you couldn’t even put the tee in the ground it was so hard.
The green looked like craters on the moon, every putt bounced and changed direction. This was the worse shape course I have played on in years.
Another excellent round of golf
The course is a reasonable test of your golf skills. Some narrows fairways with appropriate number of hazards. Enjoyed playing back nine next to neshaminy creek. The tee boxes are not best of shale and some of the greens needs work but we always enjoy playing here.
Good value course
Very good value to play here. Greens are not in best of shape but overall the course was on good shape. Fairly open but challenger the average golfer. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would certainly play there again.
Awful.
Didn’t appreciate the starter giving me a hard time when I asked if I could have my own cart. When I explained to him that I have else issues I thought it was odd when he asked aggressively what health issues I had. Didn’t really think that was any of his business and also don’t think he should even be allowed to ask that question. The course was awful and there were two groups of 5 in front of me which is unheard of on a golf course. Left after 9 holes. The whole experience just left a bad taste in my mouth.
What were they thinking?
We’ve played this course a few times this year and this has been the worst conditions I’ve ever seen. Tee boxes were chewed up, greens were patchy and the fairways were practically non existent. At 10:30 am I don’t expect to run into mowers on a narrow hole and have the operator play tag with us. Seriously they need to counsel some of these people on how to get out of the way. Won’t be back.
Basic and Comfortable
The course conditions are improving, but not worthy of a higher rating. The course is easy to follow and very forgiving. Usually greens fees are lower than most. Carts are older and gas powered. That makes it great for beginners and amateurs in my opinion. Staff are a friendly and helpful. All together it makes for a relaxing and enjoyable outing.
Super dry
The fairways were in pretty horrid condition with as dry it has been this summer, hard as a rock and mostly brown grass. The greens were in pretty decent shape though. My brother and I got there early, and they let us go off early as a twosome starting at the back 9, since there was not really anybody on the course and there were three foursomes going off ahead of us. We caught up to a group of three walking (we were in a cart) around 12 and they let us play through which was nice. Pace was great for our first 9, when we got back to 1, we were paired up with another twosome and there were a few in front, so pace slowed a bit but we still finished in about 4 hours. The Marshall talked about how they are looking to improve irrigation which might help the fairway conditions. It was a pretty straightforward course, good for a beginner like my brother and me. I’d considered playing it again, but there are nicer courses at similar prices in the area.
Neshaminy
Dry weather has caused poor fairway and tee box conditions. Greens were high and slow
The only thing missing are cows and pigs at this farm
The GOOD = staff are super friendly and carts are newer with charging units….and beer prices are decent
The BAD= everything else! They had the audacity to charge $55 to play this pasture. There are no blue tees ; but then again it was hard to tell where tee boxes were, since every box was just a shaved fairway
Tee boxes were like an ashtray of broken tees. Tee boxes needed a hammer to get a tee in!
Tee boxes line you up to other tee boxes and put players in harms way. Greens were super fluffy and soft. But they use the same hole all the time ( no old holes could be found on any greens). The ground was actually growing over the cups. Green speed was around 2-3 on a stimp
I have never been at a course with so many horrible golfers in one place. We heard FORE over THREE dozen times. The course is littered with balls and people just play whatever ball they find first. I personally lost three balls to other players picking them up or playing my ball.
Traps are loaded with foot prints and loaded with weeds
They need about 12 rangers for this place. We got stuck behind a foursome who had two open holes in front of them. Starter spoke to them on 5 and then we never saw him again
This place isn’t even worth using as a place to work on your game, since you never know what roll or bounce you’re going to get
There’s no beer girl or range. They only let you buy two beers per nine holes per person. So pack your own!
The putting green was atrocious and was like walking on a bed comforter
My advice is bring a helmet, a weed whacker ,a blow up mattress and lots of beer….you’re gonna need them all
Neshaminy Valley GC
At Neshaminy overall the course is in pretty good shape. The greens are undulating and a little bit slow but you just gotta get used to it and accept it like they do at The Open in Scotland. Haha My only complaint is that a few of the tee boxes could use a little attention as they are hard, weedy and barren of grass. Otherwise I enjoyed my round and I feel like I played my best round ever over the handful of times I have played Neshaminy. I DO recommend that you play this course.
