Good value
It's a long course and greens were in great shape ... however I would not pay full price for the course ..hard to distinguish between fairways and the rough..... one thing I will say yardage markers on the course on sprinkler heads were dead on
Most golfers I came across don't know the meaning of playing through
I stopped here on my way to Philadelphia twice and the first time I played as a single and the foursome that I caught up with on the third hole would not let me play through for the remaining round. The next time I played I caught a female twosome on the 13th hole and most of the time they were playing 2 balls a piece and they would not let me through. It's a sham they don't know etiquette here because the course is a nice traditional layout , albeit not very difficult.
Beautiful old traditional golf course
Loved playing the course. The course was in great
condition. Ruff was a little deep because of all the
rain, but I will definitely play this course again..
Early Bird Special
First round of the morning on a beautiful day, and also had a great discounted rate. Enjoyed the course and conditions, and the greens were really in excellent shape. Some of the holes feel the same, but overall good experience. Only negative about the round was the staff /employee, who arrived late to open the pro shop. He came at the same time as the first Tee time, and was both the guy taking money and getting the carts. They need more staff and should arrive 15 minutes earlier.
Friendly Course To Go Low
My wife and I took another couple who had not played the course and they loved it. Most holes are straight, flat with tree trouble right and left. The back nine has a couple of challenging holes. We all came away with good scores, had a great time and we plan to go back and play it again.
Day at the Course
Originally set reservation for Saturday at 6 am but forecast of extreme rain forced me to change reservation to 7/30 at 6 am. I was disappointed that two other players joined us who got a $25 rate from Golf Now and I paid $38.
Also the cashier did not open the course until he got there at 6 am and my reservation was for 6 am. Had to wait to pay and for the cart to be brought around.
Really Good Muni!
This is a great public municipal golf course. The do a great job maintaining the course. Walking is encouraged !
Nice to see the muni can still exist in today's golf world!
This course was a lot of fun. My partner & I went back and forth during our match. We did start on 10 since a tourney had gone off, but no problems. Will go back again.
Play through, not
I'm a new golfer, when I say new I mean that I have been golfing a few years, but purely a recreational a few times a year type of golfer. I didn't have issue with any of the staff, in truth they were fairly accommodating, but the fellow players we did have some issue with. In particular, a situation arose where my buddy and I asked if we could play through a group of four that were playing particularly slow as two were walking and two were riding. After they agreed and we teed off, they started playing the course as we were and then became insulting to our play, jeering etc during our backswings and the like. Definitely, not cool. We ended up not even finishing the hole since they obviously had no intention of letting us play it. Dicks
The course itself is mostly straight and flat with a few bends, a couple tricky par 3s, and a few long par 4s (one I believe is over 550yds if memory serves). Conditions were good and all around a good time minus the group of dick heads.
6 inch tall grass in the secondary rough
The greens were beautiful, the fairways were awesome, but we lost so many balls in the six-inch tall secondary rough that I swear I just could never recommend this for a novice golfer.
Lesser-Known gem settled in Lancaster
I've played Four Seasons for years now.. it's getting on about 15 or so without really counting... I watched the course go through a management change and cringed like everyone else who'd been playing this track for years. Well - GREAT change. The club has put a lot of effort into the course and some new amenities:
First off - there's a warm up range now. I don't say driving range because you couldn't use a driver on it, IMO, but it's a great place to warm up hitting some mid irons or so and get yourself swinging - something that has been absent for the entire time i've known it. Well needed as well, if you ask me!
Secondly - course maintenance is probably the best in the area, barring the private country clubs. green, full grass - just planted new, heartier grass this year that will last through the colder weather.
Third - New carts! no rickety, weird driving carts. Electric so they're nice and quiet. Super comfy and bags fit in the back - not the ones with the tiny bag wells.
Pros - it's a great track for everyone. Even if you're super long - you better be super straight because you'll get in behind some stuff that really tests your recovery. Mostly flat, only one or two elevation changes of note and blind shots, so it's great for walking. if it's empty you can get around in about 2 and 1/2 hours for 18. Because it's such a well taken care of course now it's getting more play so a packed day could wield a 4 and 1/2 hour round. The beer is cold, and the hot dogs are ready fast! Some good cigars there at NOT country club prices - which is bonus!
Cons - the snack bar has some great sandwiches, but you're not staying there after the round. Not really a comfortable place to hang out and come if you're not golfing either. No burgers - dogs only. Cold sandwich selections but that's about it in a nutshell. There's beer though!!!!!!
Great practice areas, great golf, but not much to do if you're not playing or once you're done playing for the day. Still a MUST PLAY in Lancaster - more than once.
Ugliest I have ever seen this course
This course was never one of my favorite, but is always in great shape. Not today it is by far the worst I have seen it (greens were good) rest of course was a swamp and a lot dead. I know the time of year but even for time in bad shape.
Where was Waldo?
This never happens - the players and the new cart girl were at the course well before the pro shop staff. The pro shop opened late. This was a Sunday, nice day to relax and forget about work. All told, this was a one-off which didn't cause any real problems. Everyone just went with the flow. We started late but finished the round in just over three hours. Fairways have not done well with the weather conditions and there were a lot of bare patches. Greens were great.
Jim Furyk
Course wasn't too bad. Some tough par 4's. Greens were in excellent condition. Rolled true. Maybe someday Jim will come back and build a new clubhouse, ha-ha.
Standard Local Muni
Played here on a hot Sunday morning in July. Pace of play was fine, course was in decent shape considering the amount of rain it got the evening before. This track features lots of short par 4's (325-375) yards, and you better hit it straight off the tee. If the course staff would cut the branches off the bottom of the trees just a little, this course would be much better. Instead, you drive it ten yards off line and are sometimes lucky to even find your ball under pine trees that are grown to the ground with high grass and weeds beneath them. All in all, an average course that's generally in good shape year round and easy to get on any day of the week.
Enjoyed the Course
My daughter and I played Four Seasons for the first time and thought the course was fair to new golfers as well as advanced.
