Good practice course

Very flat and straightforward greens always in Great condition. Great course to hone in your distances because there is relatively no elevation change. 6400 yard part 70 plays pretty long, even though a few holes are really short. Good amount of trees just off the left and right side of every hole make for a frustrating round if you are not hitting fairways. Not the most fun course to play... there really are not any scenic or signature holes but is def the best course in the Lancaster area to dial in your game. Seems like a good course for beginners and elderly because most greens are not protected in the front.

Great Course, No Ammenities

The course was nice and open, very forgiving for the casual golfer. It is a dry course, so no alcoholic beverages, very big downside for my type of golf. The staff was friendly, the pace was perfect, but no bathroom throughout and, water stations were empty or very warm. I may go back if I'm playing alone or just looking to improve my game, but not for a group play.

A Great Track - Well Maintained

Got a chance to play Four Seasons while in town for the weekend visiting family. We enjoyed the round so much we came back the next day. Tee box to green the course was in great condition. Tee boxes were level and well maintained; fairways were cut tight and produced big forward bounces; the rough was thick and the ball sat down making it necessary to hit the fairway. Bunkers were all in great condition. Only two par 5s (par 70 course) Wish there were four. Overall a great experience.

nice greens

4 seasons is a pretty nice course with some long par 4's to test your driving abilities. then there are a few short par 5's so it evens things out. greens have recovered from one month ago and putt true. sand is quite fluffy and not so easy to hit out of. overall 4 stars

New Superintendent here and it's showing

The course is in much better than shape than what it has been in years past. The new super has added some things, raised some canopies, and seems to be doing all of the little things that a complacent staff would not. The staff is mostly new and very friendly and knowledgeable Pro and GM.

The playability course itself seemed short from the scorecard but some of the par fours play very long as well as the par fives. A few holes are driver wedge for longer hitters, but only if you hit it straight. This course protects itself with mature trees that are positioned to make sure you get punished for finding them.

fairways need attention and a new course marshall

Most of the fairways need work, very patchy and dirty. The course marshall is supposed to keep pace going but instead just drives around and doesnt do or say anything. There was a slow group of 2 holding lots of people up and marshall did not say anything to them after aknowledging or frustration. It is a senior citizen hay day and we didnt end up finishing because it was taking too long to get around all the slower seniors. Our tee time was at 130pm so it wasnt a normal busy time either.

An average course, whose primary obstacle (in the fall) is leaves.

This course was a great value - but rather simple in design and offered little variety. Only 2 doglegs, very little water, no elevation change make it a tad boring. However, as many holes are short, it's a good opportunity for short game practice. The biggest trap - the leaves, which at the time of playing covered the course and ate my ball even from the middle of the fairway. I may return simply because of the value, but not because of the course.

Easy course, good value

Nice course for the money. Very open, not much trouble, yet still challenging. Could be maintained much better-- many dead fairways and even some greens. All and all, I'd go back.

Not worth the money!

I have played 4 seasons usually 2-3 times a year for the past 10 years and I have never seen fairways as bad as they were this time. The Greens were decent but there was no grass on the fairways at all. If I had to give anyone a recommendation it would be to not waste your money!

Greens were excellent. Fairways are being re-grassed so for a while will be difficult to play.

I have played this course many times and will continue playing there. When in normal condition it is excellent for any level of player, but at the moment the turf in most of the fairways is being replaced so is difficult to hit normal shots. If you have the skill to play partially in the first cut you can enjoy the course because the greens are normally quite fast and have some interesting slopes. For me, always a pleasure. The staff makes it more so.

Nice course, could use some work though

I played a couple of weeks ago....this course is usually a very nice value course. It's got a somewhat bland layout (a lot of parallel holes) but it's very walkable and based on the prices you can get, you can't really complain about the value. It's definitely worth adding to your rotation if you live in the Lancaster area. Last time we played however there were several holes with very patchy fairways. Perhaps we've had too much rain this summer, but we ended up just playing Fall Rules golf due to the conditions.

Best part was finishing

Where to begin with this place... it started out with the starter giving the other guys in my group a hard time for a cooler of water. He stated that it was policy to not allow ANY coolers, yet after the 3rd hole we noticed at least 3 other groups with coolers on their cart. They said they play all the time, so obviously either the starter was targeting the group or plays favorites.

Once we got onto the first fairway you could see why this was a cheap course. There were parts of the fairway missing and full of mud. The greens were so bumpy I thought my ball was on a wooden rollercoaster. The maintenance of this course looked non-existent. The worst part was the "Marshall". We had to call into the pro shop after the 6th hole, because we were at the 2 hour mark after 6 HOLES!!! The Marshall came out, but the pace didn't pick up as she just drove around and picked up golf balls and watched everyone play. What a waste of a Marshall. The best part of the round was 18, because I was finally done. I would never go to this place again and I have already told a few friends about how terrible it was. Even the food lady was rude.

One of the hardest stretches of holes in the county

For those not familiar with Four Seasons, it is a tried and true straight-forward course. Reasonable fairways, well placed fairway bunkers offer many risk v reward scenarios. Some short par-4's offer up prime birdie opportunities. The course was in relatively decent shape on this day in terms of fairway and rough. The bunkers are well maintained with plenty of good sand. On the day I played the greens were a little sketchy. (In defense of the course, I played later in the day) a lot of ball marks not properly fixed, but the cleat marks around the holes made it impossible to roll a true ball. Usually the greens are solid here, so I'm just going to chalk it up as an anomaly, though it did make for a frustrating round. Standing over 4 footers were much more nerve-wracking then they should have been. In my unprofessional, uneducated opinion, they could probably use a top-dressing to smooth it up.

Now...back to the course. Most of the holes are very straight. If you hit the ball straight, you're in great shape(well, duh). Most holes are tree lined, with ob on the outside perimeter holes. In my opinion the front nine offers up some great scoring opportunities (1,2,3,8). The back 9 starts like the front until you reach 13. I believe 13-17 may be the hardest stretch of public course holes in Lancaster. 13, long par 4. 14, a long par 5. A solid tee shot may still leave you 300+ in. 15, par 4. Well placed fairway bunkers make your tee shot crucial for your second to carry over a pond. 16, longest par 3 on the course. A pin in the back right is brutal. 17, very long slight dog-leg par 4. I've played with some people who immediately assume it's a par 5 before looking at the scorecard. Usually making par in this hole feels like a birdie.

All in all, Four Seasons is a true and fair test of the game. Check it out.

Returned after about 16 years to play

I played this course in college 16 years ago and no longer live near that area. Loved the course layout - mature course. It is open and forgiving with large greens that are fairly easy to read. There are still challenges while hackers like me can still break 100. The course is shorter (Par 70) and there is a sea of par 4's. Only two Par 5's and the layout is a little confusing when you look at the course map and yet everything is well marked from hole to hole. The Marshall should get out and manage the pace of play better on the weekends. I definitely will go back as I left some shots on the course and yet it makes me feel good about my game with its level of challenge. I love putting here - always did.
The conditions of the greens and the fairways need some work - we have had enough rain that it should look better than it does overall. Still, I had a blast and the price through Golfnow was incredible!

Open and Straight

As the summary says, the majority of the holes were straight and wide open. It's hard to lose a ball on this course. I had nobody in front of me till I got to hole 14 and that's because they started on the back nine. Even with them playing slow I completed the course in under 2.5 hours. Every staff member I came in contact with was awesome. With Golfnow I ended up paying around $14 for 18 and cart.

Tree lined flat course with some water and some traps

Course in very good shape, not real difficult, but if you hit in the trees, difficulty rises. For what we paid, we felt the course was a great value.

The course had some very challenging holes. The greens, sand traps and fairways were well maintained. The pace of play was great for a Sunday morning. Highly recommended.

Would recommend but the biggest issue is the pace of play. It should never take nearly 5 hours to play 18 holes. There was no ranger on the course.
