Rolling Fields Golf Club
About
Rolling Fields Golf Course in Murrayville, also known as "The Fields" to regulars, boasts fast greens that are some of the area's best. The layout stretches across rolling green hills sprinkled with mature trees. There are plenty of interesting holes but the golf course is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence. The front nine is fairly straightforward with only trees and the occasional bunker causing trouble. The course gets more challenging on the back nine, which starts with the longest par 4 on the backside. Accuracy is a necessity on this tough hole with a narrow fairway and small green. Rolling Fields Golf Course boasts one of western Pennsylvania's premier finishing holes, a stunning par 4 with a lake that guards the front of the green. Even with all that the course offers, it is still one of area's most affordable.

Great course, will play again.
Great course. Well maintained and fun layout, if a bit short.
Particularly enjoyed the back nine. Interesting elevation changes and water hazards. Watch out for the two water hazards on the eighteenth hole: the first carry is over 230 yards from the back tees!
We sometimes found disagreement between the scorecard indicated distances, yardage markers and GPS; so watch out!
Great deal, fun course
Very nice course with a reasonable rate. There are lots of interesting holes and the back 9 is particularly scenic. The greens were average paced, hard, and broke very little. The bunkers looked very well maintained, though I never had the pleasure of hitting out of one.
Tee boxes could use some attention and the fairway, in places, was spotty, but other than that it was a great value for the price and I will definitely play it again.
On a number of holes the posted yardage at the tee boxes was up to 30 yards off according to the GPS we used. That was a bit mystifying, but the course was in very good shape.
The course was in bad shape but that's not the worst part
The staff at this course is HORRIBLE. Specifically Frank (I believe that was his name). He is inconsiderate and will cancel your tee times 30 minutes before you are set to tee off!
They have not respect for you or your time. If you want to play golf so somewhere else that will actually let you play. I had my tee times cancelled twice and was told "you can only play 9 holes" once.
Don't waste your time like I did.
New clubhouse and bar
Convenient to east suburbs of Pittsburgh, greens are good for a public course that gets a lot of play, some great views on the back nine!
relaxed atmosphere
ive golfed this course twenty times. its a great course if time is an issue. me and my brother completed this course in two and a half hours before. course was in GREAT shape.
Great course, Staff could be nicer
First time I have ever played Rolling Fields. It was a challenging course with a nice layout. Greens were nice but very stiff...it was hard to stick one on. Only course negative were the tee boxes, they could use some extra attention.
As far as staff; I went in at the turn to get a hot dog and beers and the course pro/manager was rude and seemed annoyed when I asked any questions. Perhaps a bad day, perhaps not.
A great surprise
Fun course to play, fairways and greens are in great shape. I can only see this course getting better because of the care from the owner and staff.
Bang for your buck!
A friend and I played here on a Sunday. We payed $20.00 each for an 18 hole tee time at 3:30, including a cart. The course was pretty nice. We got out there with no problem with the staff, and were able to enjoy brews, cigars, and golf all day. It wasn't very crowded so weren't rushed at all. Would definitely go back.
Great for the money
For a golfer of my skill level, this course was a fun challenge. Nothing is flat, which made it tough but enjoyable since it was different than I'm used to. Greens were hard and super fast.
Ok coarse for the money.
Greens and fairways are ok, cart paths and bunkers could use a lot of attention. The last six holes on the back are the best of the coarse. Overall I would play it again, but not if the price goes over 27 or 28 bucks.
Rolling Fields
I'm not one to bash any establishment, particularly one where I had NO issues with the staff. I had limited encourters with staff but they were all friendly and cordial.
Understanding that this course cost $19.00 / round - I still felt as if it was under-par for comparable courses. Every shot in on a hill, fairway or not. The fairways had limited grass and were not lush in the slightest. At the end of the day I would not recommend this course to friends.
this course is short but pretty nice to play
rolling fields is a short but somewhat can be challenging course, nice lay out and a confident builder for someone that wants to shoot low scores. some drivable par fours and short par fives but hit the ball straight and you will have a good time and score nice. have a nice day and god bless you and this country we all need it!!
Greens need water, but other than that it was fine.
Played here early in the season (late April) from the blacks. Yardage seems to be a little generous, club down if it looks closer than the course says. Early morning putting was very fast but fun, once the sun came out and baked them for a few minutes they were unplayable. Set a completely static ball on one of the very few flat greens and watched it roll all the way across and onto the fringe. Very fun course otherwise, just be careful, a lot of bad/slow golfers and blind shots.
Nice course
the course was nice and open, with well taken care of greens.
You get what you pay for
Simply put, I wouldn't pay more than 30$ to play this course, it's more of a convenient location for me. The greens are fast and always in great shape, but as summer comes along and with the heat, the course gets very dried out, the greens may be the only part they water. Easy course, some decent holes, and a fair value.
Best Greens in Western PA!!!
This course has to be one of the best values in the COUNTRY!!! This course way exceeded my expectations. The best part about Rolling Fields was the Greens. They are better than most country clubs I have played recently. Not the longest course but some very challenging holes. The back nine is legit. Make sure to play 18 from the blues!!!
has come a long way, fun course
the last time I played it was probably 3 years ago, obviously they have done a lot of work-nice course
No carts, couldn't even play our round.
We arrived for our 12:46 tee time and were told they had no carts and we would have to wait 30-45 minutes. After waiting for 30 minutes 2 carts came in and people were fighting over them in the parking lot. There were only 2 people on staff, an elderly man and young bartender, neither of whom had any control over the situation. I have never seen anything like this.
