Rolling Fields Golf Club
About
Rolling Fields Golf Course in Murrayville, also known as "The Fields" to regulars, boasts fast greens that are some of the area's best. The layout stretches across rolling green hills sprinkled with mature trees. There are plenty of interesting holes but the golf course is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence. The front nine is fairly straightforward with only trees and the occasional bunker causing trouble. The course gets more challenging on the back nine, which starts with the longest par 4 on the backside. Accuracy is a necessity on this tough hole with a narrow fairway and small green. Rolling Fields Golf Course boasts one of western Pennsylvania's premier finishing holes, a stunning par 4 with a lake that guards the front of the green. Even with all that the course offers, it is still one of area's most affordable.

perfect greens
Absolutely perfect greens this early in the season. Staff was very laid back and inviting. Some bad spots, in the usual spots if you've ever played here before (drainage issues). But theres only a couple. Grounds are well maintained. Fairways where great and cant say enough how good the greens were. So glad they updated the clubhouse from the old barn and trailer from years past. Will definitely be going back again this season.
surprise in the rough
Was pleasantly surprised with the course. Staff was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. Greens were very quick for this time of year and made the day very interesting to say the least. Will definitely go back
Must Play !!!!
This Staff Keeps us coming back ? The time and money spent just keeps getting better ! Very we'll kept , some holes are challenging . Great place to Golf for the price , you will enjoy your round of golf !!
Really nice course
This is a local course for me so it's nice having something close that is challenging and well maintained.
Pros- greens are well taken care of, very challenging; from long par 3's to tough approach shots, facility and course are very clean.
Cons- staff is always a bit down trotted at the pro shop when first approving (buzz kill), grounds keepers didn't necessarily care when people were playing or hitting they mower right beside and in front of shots.
Overall, great course and definitely somewhere I would go back and recommend to friends.
decent course
This course could be really nice if more attention were paid to details. High weeds and extremely choppy cart paths take away from what could be not just a good experience, but a great experience
Interesting course
First time on the course. There are some interestingly challenging holes. I enjoyed it. Greens in excellent condition. For as little rain we had lately, the fairways were beautiful
weekender
the course has a nice mix of risk or reward choices on some holes. Over all a very enjoyable experience.
Fun Course
I always enjoy coming to Rolling Fields, it was the first golf course I had ever played.
Rolling fields is always improving.
I have been coming to this course for years. This course was a little bit rough approximately three or four years ago when I started playing it. The course as evolved through the years and lately I have never seen the greens in such good condition there always improving everybody is super friendly there and it is a nice course to play especially for the price.
Bring a sense of humor
There's a lot of these types of golf courses around this area and a lot of people play them and like them so I won't be critical other than to say, that, the course wasn't my style. I will complement them on their staff and patronage. All were friendly and having a good time..
great deal
The course was in good condition the staff was friendly
Don't play on a Sunday Morning
We showed up early on a Sunday Morning with a Golf Now Tee Time and even though we reserved a time through Golf Now, we were told we had to play behind their 2 Sunday Morning Leagues. We were there before the leagues even started and were told we were not allowed to go out by Frank behind the desk because he had to take care of his "regulars". My threesome usually plays 18 in 2 1/2 hours but were not allowed to start in front of the leagues. After one of my buddies talked with Frank, he allowed us to strart on the back 9.. We were able to cruise on the backside of the course, but when we made the turn to 1, it took us 3 hours to play the front 9.. Course was very wet, but the greens were in pretty good shape once they got the dew off in the morning.. Fairways and rough were pretty much what I expected. I'm sure if you go at the right time and get a a good golf now deal, its a good value, but I won't be back on a Sunday Morning.
muddy and wet
muddy and wet course, had rained slightly the day before. Carts muddy and dirty from the day before, not hosed off. Cart paths are broken up and very bumpy. Rough was too high for this course Shots just off the fairway lost in 12 inch grass. Should not be so high for a public course.
Rolling Fields ok for the money
There is a potential for this to be a really nice layout but it's not quite premier right now. There are some nice features like horseshoe bunkers on #4, elevation changes on the back par 3's and some interesting water holes also on the back nine. The front 9 has 3 truly blind holes (6,8 & 9) making the 1st time there challenging. Many bunkers were overgrown around them or not maintained at all. Better fairway/rough definition would be great along with better cart paths and new yardage markers. Good course for the $$. Nice logo!!
Below Average
Not that good of a layout, unless you really like short par 4's. The greens were very fast and in good shape, but that's about it.
You can't tell the fairways from the rough. The cart paths would have made a better motocross track.
Not a lot to recommend about this course, there are many courses that are far better than this one.
Nice open course
Nice course for the money. New carts. Newer facility. Cart paths are either dirt or broken pavement. Only bad thing.
Short But Fun
This course is short and has drivable par 4's. You can score low here as it isn't very difficult. It was in good condition and is a great value for the money. I'd play again because I like variety and this course is different than what I usually play.
Half-Decent course. Some parts need attention
1. Course was in decent condition. No brown spots on the greens. Fairways were in good shape. Green speed was not consistent.
2. One potential safety issue was that you have to drive on road for around 50 yds to get to the 10th tee. Could be dangerous since you have cars coming around the bend.
3. The owner was not really rude but did not care either. Reading through the reviews, that seems to an issue but I figured we're here to play golf and as long as the course is in good shape, who cares? There really was no one maintaining the pace of play so I guess that's where it could be an issue.
One thing that did annoy our group was that when we were waiting to tee off from the 1st tee.. a twosome said they had the same tee time as us. Then he went inside the clubhouse and came back out said.. "the manager says we're going first because we play here all the time and you guys booked off the internet". Didn't know that internet bookings were treated differently.
Overall.. decent value, middle of nowhere, no pace of play maintained.
Needs work aroun greens lots of hard dirt. makes a missed green a disaster. lots of potential
New manager was rude and obtrusive and aggroant But Al and staff were great. Alittle work and course could be great.. lots of interesting layouts
Course in great shape
Course very well maintained. Play is very fast. Price is good.
Thanks so much for your positive review!! We are so glad that you had a great time. We look forward to seeing you again this season!
