Grand View Golf Club

I’ve played this course a few times. I enjoy it as the course is kept if good condition for a public course, but it is a challenging course with blind shots, unforgiving rough shots and many opportunities to lose your ball. I’m not a great golfer, so I know I will lose at least a half dozen balls here. If you’re not a truly accurate shooter, you will too. I play here to have fun with friends. I would not play here for money! I’m sure I’ll play here again.

I want to begin by saying that the course is beautifully maintained, and you should absolutely come out and play this course. Personally, I will be back soon.

However, bring your shag bag. I used to be a +2, and I lost 4 golf balls yesterday. That has never happened to me before.

Several birdie opportunities, though, and all 4 par 3s offer you a chance at a hole in one because they play extremely short. #1 and #6 are drivable par 4s. #10 is easily reachable in 2. Opportunities are there.

There are holes that you give you no bailout off the tee, but all approach shots give you a bailout.

Play to 165 yd. out on #8 and #15. Seriously. Thank me later.

The Monster on the Mon was in great shape given all of the rain we have had in the recent weeks. The course is truly a shot-makers course. It’s not a big hitters dream and the greens were kept very well. The only drawback would be the number of blind shots but when you see maybe the best views in Pittsburgh you will see what the course builders were faced with.

The course was in good shape considering our weather of late. Very friendly staff.

Have played many different layouts all over US from Pebble beach to Pinehurst, but have never played a fairer challenge than this course. Wonderful greens, smooth fairways and tees. Very scenic and I would highly recommend this place to any level player, if you aren't straight off the tee, bring plenty of balls and remember it's the challenge that makes you better. By the way, the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful.

This course has an unusual layout, which requires precise drives and approach shots. Its nickname, per my son, is the Golfball Graveyard. However, it is fun to play, and the course is kept in very good condition. One of the players in my group, it was the first time he played the course, said that the greens were the best for any public course in the area.

Well maintained, very unique course; but not for the faint of heart. The location of this course, basically carved into a mountainside, makes it naturally punishing for anyone not able to hit the ball where they want to. At about 6000yds the course isn't long, but if you're not hitting the ball straight you're all but guaranteed to lose any shot into an unplayable situation. Wouldn't suggest playing here when it's cart-path only if you're not in decent shape.

The course was in excellent shape. The greens were fairly fast and beautifully cared for. The fairways were excellent despite the heavy rain the previous two days. The pace of play was great. All in all, a perfect day

Grand View offers a demanding, well kept, super tight layout. I promise you will never play a course like it anywhere. Hitting irons off the tee is a must as you need to be in the correct position to hit the tight, well kept greens. Par is good food for a lot of these holes. Listen it can be tough your first couple of times. You need a little knowledge of the course to actually score. If you keep it straight it plays fair and there is a lot of opportunity to get up and down. Great quick electric carts with GPS. Awesome friendly staff. Been playing here for a few years now and will always come back.

Yes it is early but the Golf Course was very playable if you played winter rules. The Greens were Good and rolled well. Tee boxes fine but traps/bunkers were bad. Nobody had touched them but again early! Most public courses ignore the bunkers and this is too bad! I guess it is a manpower issue. The man in the Golf Shop was super friendly. He is not the Pro but the this course like most public courses does NOT need PGA affiliated Pro’s. If they keep up with things it is worth a return trip or 2! Hope they cut the Fairways soon!

A friend and I wanted to catch up and play privately together as a twosome so we called around and the gentleman we spoke with over the phone the night before said they’d be happy to reserve a tee time for us. We clarified that we were requesting not to play with four total golfers and he said that wouldn’t be a problem at all. After we arrived at the course and paid, the starter said that we’d be paired up with another twosome. After we explained that we called ahead of time to reserve a tee time for a twosome we were told “they don’t control the tee times in there, I do. If you don’t like it then go request a refund”. We got our refund and left. It’s a shame such a nice looking course has such unfriendly staff.

If you cannot consistently hit fairway off the tee followed by plopping your ball on the green, this course is nearly impossible. Running through a case of balls because you hit 2ft off the fairway is not fun. The "decision" to not hit driver off the tee each hole is to prevent from losing your ball. Disappointing because the course is well maintained and the golf carts are awesome. Perhaps building a course on a cliff wasn't the best idea

Such a fun course and layout. Lots of blind shots. Not easy for the longer hitters! Always so much fun!

Staff was rude. Food and drink were poor quality. Course had a poor design and horrible condition. Golf elsewhere!

I play this course weekly. It is so much fun. It challenges you to actually play golf instead of just grabbing your driver on every hole. It is very unforgiving and you really have to think about your ball placement. It is one of the best keep courses around. The food is excellent. I would recommend to everyone.
