Nice Donald Ross course
The course was in good shape but pace of play was slow. Could have used a Marshall to speed it up but I guess you can expect this on a resort course . All in all a good value and good food on property.
Enjoy this track
Weather was beautiful so pace of play slow, which was to be expected (one slow threesome holding things up). Course in very decent shape and holes keep u interested. Pro shop staff and cart attendant very friendly and proficient....fast and smooth registration. Hot Deal is icing on the cake!
Won't go back
Got there early. Pro shop staff would not consider letting us play sooner than our tee time. Had to pay a lot extra to play. Upsetting!! They were not busy. Won't go back!!
Coming Back
Over the last few years this course was not in the best of condition however, this year they have spent some money. It is evident throughout the course. The tee boxes are very large and we'll kept. The greens are thick and run true. No crab grass anywhere. The fairways are coming back. And a classic layout. By Far and Away the best feature of this course is that there are no homes anywhere you really go out and just play golf. Peace, Quiet, lots of Wildlife complete the experience. I suggest playing during the week as on weekends the course is extremely busy.
Hidden Jem
Played this coarse for the first time last year. Since then I played there thirteen more times. I do not understand all the negative comments. I've played most of the courses in the Pocono Mt. Region and this one ranks right up there with the best of them.
Excellent course for the price.
This is a great course that my wife and I have played several times. It is a great value. The course fairways were stressed this time though since the area had a lack of rain with hot temps the week before our most recent outing.
Awesome hidden gem
You won't need your driver on many holes position golf is important. Greens excellent shape tee boxes too. Bring a friend
Fun course
Fun course if you keep it in the fairways. No bunkers, except on 18. Trees and mounds are the defense of this course. If you are straight off the tee, it's an easy layout.
Pocono Golfer
Course is in excellent condition - fun to play.
Pro shop not friendly.
Excellent Course, Worth the trip
We drove up from NJ and it was well worth the drive.
The staff is extremely friendly, the drive was simple.
the course is in very good condition and is both fun and challenging. There are some wide open fairways and a few tight turns.
I recommend this course!
great value
for 25.00 on the weekend of Thanksgiving with 60 degree weather, doesn't get much better then that
Could be better
Interesting course layout, two blind greens on par 3's. Condition of course was below average, but could be related to time of year. Looking forward to play next season, my expect ions is that course will be in better condition.
A day to remember at Pocono manor East course
It was hard to think it was November. The only indications were the bare trees and leaves on the ground. We tee'd off at 9:12 am, and it was just perfect. Hole #7 was closed but alternate hole 2 gave me a chance to keep the scorecard low. We played from the seniors tees and my buddy Bill who is 72 needed the Blue flag, so his neck issues would not cut the round short. I've played this course since 1977 and I have to say, it is coming back strong. Make note of Greg Wall's golf tips, or you could get clobbered.
GREAT FIND IN POCONO'S
STAFF WAS FRIENDLY,COURSE WAS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, GREENS WERE SMALL BUT IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, VERY DIFFERENT COURSE THEN YOU WOULD SEE IN NEWJERSEY, WELL WORTH THE TRIP, WOULD COME BACK
Great comeback
Classic Donald Ross design. Course had deteriorated in last few years but today was on excellent shape. Well done Pocono manor.
5 Hour round!!!
I played Pocono Manor on Saturday August 29, 2015 as part of a group of 9 (3 groups of 3) and a tee time of approximately 10:30 am. Our group was made up of a mix of players that are probably anywhere from a 7-30 handicap so we are by no means professionals but our round took 5 hours which definitely took away from our experience and is unacceptable (more on the pace of play below).
Course: There are some interesting holes and elevation changes on this course that could make it fun to play like the blind par 3 (3rd hole), driveable par 4s (hole 5 and 16), and the ridiculously short par 3 (7th hole). The overall course conditions were okay, there were some signs of damage on a few of the tee boxes but nothing that I would complain about. The fairways and greens were in respectable shape but they should put some divot mix on the carts so that they players can help with the maintenance.
Pace of Play/staff: This is where my criticism of this course starts. Starting on hole 3, we got significantly backed up. So backed up that we had all 9 of us sitting on the same tee box at times (hole 5 and 6). The ranger drove by and just kept driving. On either hole 11 or 12 this happened again. The ranger proceeded to tell us that if it happened again, he would take our cart keys (all while the 4 some in front of us was sitting 100 yards down the fairway looking for their balls in the woods (again)). When we asked him about the hold up in front of us, he told us that he couldn't do anything about it but that 9 of us couldn't sit on the same tee box because it looked bad(I guess our last group should have just sat on the last green). What is the point of having a ranger, if you are not going to tell people to speed it up when they fall behind? I don't mind waiting from time to time but I think we waited on the one tee box for at least 10 minutes. For what it is worth, we never saw a group behind us until around hole 14.
Value: You do get your money's worth at this course since it is the cheapest course (at least that we found) in the Pocono area on a Saturday morning. That should tell you something right there.
Apparently this course doesn't realize that a 5 hour round of golf drives away customers. I would consider playing this course again but it won't be for a while. I will check out the other area courses first.

A really nice course , surrounded by nature and fantastic views of the pocono mountains. Can't wait to come back and play in the fall to see the views as the leaves change color. Fairways are in good shape.
