Skytop Lodge - Poconos Golf Course
About
Skytop Golf Course sprawls across rolling hills set against a backdrop provided by the beautiful Poconos. The course originally opened in 1927. It has a classic design with traditional features including wide fairways, but the trees that line them have matured into quite the challenge. The 6,656-yard length may seem short by modern standards but don't get too comfortable. This mountain golf course features a variety of elevation changes and nowhere is this more apparent than the small greens where the breaks can vary from subtle to dramatic, but they are almost all unexpected. The greens also play lightning fast. Strategically placed bunkers are lurking throughout but thankfully water only comes into play on two holes. Skytop Golf Course offers plenty of scenic respite as well, with panoramic views of West Mountain.

Golfer Reviews
Course good but no management
Course was in great condition but no management. I pulled up and took out my own clubs put them on a cart no one asked me if I had a tee time. Went in and verified I did have a tee time. Was on the tee yet 5 minutes to my schedule T time. I assumed being as busy as it was they would put me with other golfers but they didn't. I got stuck behind a slow twosome who were stuck behind six guys playing together that were bachelor party trip. No Ranger to move people along or put people together Other than that it was a good round. I would say it wasn't worth the money. It really looked like a fun resort for anybody who wants to spend some time in the Poconos Very family oriented. Some very challenging holes.
Great course and staff
Had a fantastic time playing this course, will be returning when we are in the area next. Conditions were great and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Very Enjoyable Round of Golf
The whole experience from start to finish was incredible, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The course and practice area were in wonderful shape, can’t wait to play there again soon!!!
Great Day
Loved the layout, course was in great shape. greens rolling fast, plush fairways.
All around great
Very friendly staff . Carts are nice, course was beautiful!
Great experience
Never met a friendlier crew that were dedicated to their course and to the patrons enjoying their round
Best course I've played, Conditions were fantastic, especially in the fairways, and the staff are fantastic as well. Definitely a must play in the Poconos.
First time
Very nice course. First time ever playing there in early april 2026. The course condition looked like mid season. Staff was very welcoming. Starter gave me a breakdown of the course. Greens were good condition and not too hard or not too easy. Overall, I will definitely play there again.
Top Rated Course Does Not Disappoint
Let's start off by saying its early in the season just 2 weeks into spring. Expected the course to be nice given my past experiences here. Its no walk in the park but it has some friendly holes and tee shots. Course conditions are immaculate. Level tee boxes. Mint fairways. Healthy rough. And the greens... literally nothing bad to say. It was wet and cooler out and yet the greens rolled true and fairly fast. Staff was cool. Driving range was mats only sadly but tis for the best(the turf ranges turf was looking good!) Putting green was exceptional. Overall, 5 stars in every aspect for early season golf in the poconos.
Excellent Condition
The course is is excellent condition in all aspects (tee box, fairway, green). The staff are all friendly. Pace was excellent. Played on Sat and never saw the faces of groups in front or back. One recommendation is that there is no need for someone from the facility to wipe the clubs at 18th hole.
Excellent course
Enjoyed playing golf here in a Scottish style course (wide but tall grass with many sand traps). Some holes are long (over 500 yards with Par 4) whereas Par 3 holes (over 200 yards) are very challenging (long and tough). Though it was tough, I liked Hole #18 as their signature hole with an elevated green and hazards (small creek and sands). It was not crowded due to weather (cloudy) but good for me. The Golfnow coupon saved me a lot to enjoy the game.
Very good course
Skytop is in really good shape. Tee boxes good, fairways lush and greens fast and smooth. Typical public track…too many unfixed ballmarks on the greens. What gives with people…fix yours plus another. Just takes a few seconds.
Only one lunch spot at the course, more a cafe with an outdoor grill making the hot choices. Really nothing inside to grab lunch after the round.
Looks like a great resort with many options for the family too.
