Practice Course
The nickname of "Concrete" is appropriate. Almost like playing in a pasture from a fairway standpoint. The greens desperately need work. But for $20.50 for 18w/cart , its a place to practice. Have to run them up on the greens, as they rarely hold. If you are on a budget, its ok.
Fun place to knock it around
Correction to the other review: Concord is 18 holes. Yeah, it's nicknamed "Concrete," but it is a great place to come to work on shots. A fun par three here is a blind chip off a hill.
Below average course conditions but...
This golf course is an old layout and the course conditions are well below average. But here is why I play it... it's a great place to practice. Skip the driving range and come here to practice your approach shots or your iron play. I often leave my woods and long irons in the trunk and play 6-W all around the course. It forces you to pick a spot, aim, and develop better iron play. The course is rarely crowded so playing this way is OK. Give it a try.
Short, cheap, challenging, but playable
This course is a short 18 hole course with plenty of creeks, woods, and ponds to lose balls in. The course is old and probably the cheapest and shortest public course in Chattanooga. It's very common to hit a driver and either drive the green if you're a long hitter, or have a wedge shot of less than one hundred yards to get on the green for the par 4's. The greens are not great, but are puttable. They are small and very slow. You will really work on your chipping and pitching here.
The course also gives you little room for error. Don't play with your nice balls unless you trust your accuracy; because there are plenty of ponds, woods, trees, and creeks that will eat any stray shot that comes their way.
Compared to other courses, the quality is low, but you can't beat the value for the money. For the price of going to the driving range, you can walk nine holes and work on your course game. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and it's very easy to walk on as a single during the weekdays or evenings on the weekend.
Do not waste your money!
Here in Chattanooga we refer to Concord as Concrete. It a terrible 9 hole corse with tons of dead grass and weeds on both the fairways and the greens. I will never go there again!
This review is an accurate assessment of the course. I only played because my son-in-law (who plays golf once a year) wanted to go out. He enjoyed it and I tolerated the poor conditions.
