White Plains Golf Course

I’m 60 and have golfed for 50 years or so, playing hundreds of courses in the process. This course is definitely worth $40 to play for the greens alone. They were in fantastic shape. Golfers around these parts repair pitch marks more often than usual at this price point. The fairways and tee boxes were in good shape, too.

Among the downsides is the layout, especially if you don’t like houses tight along many holes. Several teeboxes are right next to greens in a bad way, with one green in particular in range for someone to get maimed by a low, slicing, botched tee shot from the 10th tee. Tight quarters on much of the course means play is likely slow pretty often. (I got incredibly lucky as a single, but saw groups stacking up as my round progressed.)

The back side offers some nice, long par threes, but I think there were four of them, not including the 17th, which was something silly like a 200-yard par 4. That may be the worst-designed hole ever, with a crowned hilltop green tight against woods and houses close along the right that must take constant punishment. It would be an amazing par 3 if the top tees were open and the houses weren’t in play, however.

The cart paths punish the back and kidneys if you’re not careful, too. Tons of huge bumps and disrepair.

The staff were friendly and offered a free yardage book to first-time players, which was a nice touch. The driving range isn’t much, but at least they have one. Like I say, it’s definitely worth $40, and I’m glad I played it if only for the wacky layout experience.

Nice layout, well maintained and challenging enough, but not difficult to play.

I've played this course numerous times. Layout is nice and the course was in good shape. The staff is super friendly. The pace of play on the back 9 was a bit of a log jam but I will definitely be playing it again.

If you want to play alot of different courses then just play this one.

Two Slow playing foursomes delayed us significantly. One of the foursomes had one individual who seemed to be teaching the others. (I can only assume it was golf instruction to the other members but I know for certain there was no thought of good golf etiquette in his teaching.)

I enjoy this course. It's in.pretty good shape all the time. Staff is super friendly and the greens fees are reasonable.

Worth the drive from gallatin glad we went an tried it out.

The course got saturated with rain and they would not honor a rain check because I booked with GolfNow. I do not recommend playing this course and booking with GolfNow

This is my third time playing this course. The greens are in good condition but many of them had sod pieces around the fringe. They'll be beautiful when done but are a challenge now. Additionally there are areas on a few fairways that are sod or just dirt I really look fwd to seeing this course in it's glory, but rt now it's a tad rough. The staff working inside couldn't be more pleasant. Rick the boss is so very cordial and the young man working the check in was polite and accommodating.

The fairways were hard and like straw. There was nothing green in the fairways and the tee boxes were not well maintained. Also, no water in the ball washers. I’ve played on much nicer courses for less money.

Always a great place to play Golf is the reason I always come back here

Love this golf course. Have been playing here for years. Can’t wait to see what it looks like what all the fairways and fringe are like when they’re grown in from maintenance. Always a great experience. Just wish they wouldn’t pair strangers together. Not many days off from work, and I don’t want to be spending my favorite past time with people that I don’t even know. I know that this is standard practice for every course, but it’s my only negative about anything to do with White Plains. I highly recommend this course to anyone.
